This week we celebrate the incredible humans behind the scenes– the ones who clean, feed, enrich, train, protect and care for animals every single day!

From sweeping poo to building complex enrichment for a curious raven, zookeepers do it all with love and dedication.

To all the zookeepers out there:
You don’t just take care of animals.
You inspire conservation.
You educate generations.
You make a difference.
And yes, you definitely deserve that 4th coffee today😀

Let’s give a loud round of paws 👏🐾 for all your hard work!

“Lockdown” is back home! ❤️

After some time missing, our beloved falcon Lockdown has returned safely! He’s now resting and will be off show for a little while as he settles back in but he’s doing well.

We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped– those who shared our posts, called us with sightings, reported information and for each one of those who kept hope and asked after him.

Your support truly made all the difference, and we’re so grateful🙏🏼

In the meantime, his amazing sister Furlough is still meeting visitors and showing off her skills in the flying arena.

📍Come say hello to Furlough, and we’ll keep you posted when Lockdown is ready to return to the skies!

Celebrating one of the nature’s most misunderstood creatures!

Why snakes need protection:

• Habitat loss, persecution, and the illegal pet trade are threatening many species

• Even harmless snakes are often killed out of fear or misunderstanding

• Snakes are crucial predators and without them, ecosystems can fall out of balance

🙏🏼 How You Can Help:

• Learn to identify native snake species in your area

• Spread awareness- not fear

• Support conservation organisations

• Never take a wild snake as a pet

• Be respectful- they want to avoid you more than you want to avoid them!

*NOW FOUND!*

Our amazing hybrid falcon ‘Lockdown’ decided as it was a lovely day on Thursday (10th July) to wonder off further than usual.

Unfortunately the radio telemetry that is attached to him is not giving out a signal to help us find him.

So we are asking for your help if you do spot him please do let us know. He could be found in a tree or on-top building to sit on or could be flying.

Although ‘Lockdown’ is an experienced falcon doing off site displays throughout the country please do not approach him, keep a safe distance and alert us ASAP ideally by sending us a picture and location of him through the following numbers:

It’s World Meerkat Day today!

Tiny bodies. Big attitudes.

They’re clever, charismatic, and endlessly watchable, they capture hearts with their curiosity and charm.

But behind the cuteness is a wild animal with complex needs, strong social bonds, and a role in delicate desert ecosystems.

Support ethical care and conservation- not the exotic pet trade
