Every week we hold our Chatty Walk at The Dog's Spot. A great opportunity for hounds and hoomans to make friends during a leisurely stroll along the river, before back to us for chats in the cafe.

But this Sunday (28th) we're teaming up with brilliant local charity Against Breast Cancer to kick off its annual Paint it Pink campaign.

At The Dog's Spot we know first-hand how devastating a breast cancer diagnosis can be, but thanks to the work of charities like Against Breast Cancer, treatment is now better than ever and only improving every day.

Chatty Walk: Paint it Pink will not only be fundraising, but everyone taking it part will wear a splash of pink to show their support.

And walkers will be entitled to a 5% in-store discount on purchases over £20.

Against Breast Cancer funds research into secondary breast cancer, aiming to improve detection, treatment, and survival.

So come along, it would be great to see you 👋

Drying can be pretty stressful for dogs, so we take our time, we’re gentle and we cover their ears to help. At The Dog’s Spot welfare will always come first.

And of course dogs in snoods is an added bonus ❤️❤️

A few times recently it’s been suggested that because we take longer to groom than others, that means we’re not doing it right.

But the truth is, if your groomer is extra quick that doesn’t make it better, it makes it more stressful for your dog. They’re likely cutting corners and aggressively drying your pet.

Dogs need calm, if they don’t like the dryer we need to step back and take longer. They need to trust their groomer, they need them to be gentle and that takes time.

One of the most rewarding things about our little independent business is how we help make cherished memories.

Today it was our honour to host little Frank for his last puppacino and duck muffin before his trip to the vet to be put to sleep. And no, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house ❤️

Even though he couldn’t walk, Frank was still able to enjoy a lovely chat with cockapoo Elsie and Golden Retriever Saffy over his afternoon tea - and thoroughly enjoy a cheeky taste of daddy’s toffee cake too!

Sending all our love to his family, both those with two legs and four. We hope in some way your hour with us helped xx
