I’m a sweaty Betty!! 🥵
Weekly clean-out day for the piggies! 🐹🧹
Throughout the week I spot clean by removing all the poo, any wet sawdust from wee, and replacing any soiled newspaper with fresh. Today was their full clean-out, with all the bedding changed, fresh newspaper, clean sawdust, fresh hay, and everything cleaned and reset.

They now have a lovely clean home, plenty of hay to munch on, fresh food and water, and lots of cosy hideaways to relax in. Safe to say they’re happy little piggies! 🥰

THURSDAY
Wherefore art thou, Romeo? 🖤🐾

I called out, ‘Romeo?’ and, as if on cue, he appeared to greet me.

He tucked into his food, enjoyed a good brush, had a thorough wash, then settled down to relax. Finished off with plenty of fuss and cuddles… he loved to be stroked all over.

Fun fact: In Shakespeare, “Wherefore art thou, Romeo?” actually means “Why are you Romeo?” rather than “Where are you?” Even so, it’s a well-known phrase.

Out early with Lexi and Mya while it was lovely and cool this morning. 🐾

Much nicer weather for a relaxed walk, plenty of sniffing, and two very happy dogs. 🐶🐶

Ever wondered why dogs lie on their backs when it’s hot? ☀️🐶
It’s not just because they’re being cute! By exposing their belly, where the fur is much thinner, they can cool down more easily against a cool floor, shaded grass, or with a gentle breeze.
They have been laying on cold floor in kitchen, but they want stay with me.

On warm days, let your dog choose where they’re most comfortable, make sure they always have fresh water, and keep them in the shade. 🩷🩷

Romeo wasn’t in when I arrived today, so I picked a few homegrown tomatoes that his owners kindly said I could help myself to 🍅.
Just as I was doing that, I looked up and there he was, strolling over to say hello! 🖤

Fresh food served, plenty of fuss, and he enjoyed a little wander in the sunshine before tucking into his dinner. I also noticed a tiny burr on his head, which I gently removed. Such a lovely boy. 🐈‍⬛

WEDNESDAY 🐶🐶
Out early with Mya and Lexi before it got even hotter. 🌞 It was already 20°C, but the humidity made it feel much warmer. They were both happy to take things slowly today, enjoying plenty of sniffing and making the most of the shade.
Grass is so dry, we need some rain!!
