SP Equestrian Guidelines & Policies
👶 Supervision
• Children must be supervised AT ALL TIMES.
• Parents: Please attend alone if possible — avoid bringing siblings/other children.
• No parent access during pony clubs/activities (you may wait in your car).
• After lessons, please leave promptly — no hanging around the yard.
🐴 Loaning & Horse Use
• No Sunday loaning unless you have a private loan. Our ponies need their rest!
• Ponies follow strict workload limits — preferred horses may not always be available.
• A weekly horse schedule starts in July to ensure fair rotation.
👕 Riding Attire – Must Follow or You Can’t Ride
🪖 Hats: Available to hire (£2.50), must meet safety standards.
🛡️ Body Protectors: Required for jumping, optional for flat work (must be certified).
✅ What to Wear:
• Leggings or full-length trousers (NO jeans)
• Boots/shoes with a ½ inch heel (wellies OK if heeled)
• Raincoat or all-weather gear
❌ What NOT to Wear:
• Vest tops, shorts, skirts, dresses, ¾ trousers
• Flip-flops, sandals, open-toe shoes, heels, trainers, pumps
• 🚫 NO jewellery!
👨👩👦 Parents / Carers / Assistants
• Riders must be supervised.
• We may require help during sessions — proper attire is a must.
• Riders with special needs may need extra support — we’ll provide guidance!
📸 Photos & Safeguarding
• Only photograph YOUR child.
• Be respectful of other families’ privacy.
• Only share pics of your child online.
💻 Booking & Payments
• All bookings via our online system (Acuity) — paid in advance.
• Bookings close 5 hours before the lesson.
• Lessons can be rescheduled if 24 hours’ notice is given.
• ❌ No refunds. No rescheduling if under 24 hrs notice — no exceptions.
📅 Cancellations
• Strict 24-hour cancellation policy.
• No transfers or refunds for late cancellations.
• Helps keep our classes small + quality high.
📋 Registration & Assessments
• Complete a Rider Registration Form before your first ride.
• New clients: Assessment Lesson required before regular booking.
• Returning after 12+ months? You may need a new assessment.
• We may refuse a rider/horse pairing if safety is at risk.
• Instructors reserve the right to decline lessons.
🕒 Arrival
• Arrive 15 mins early for hat fitting.
• We aim to stay on time — please bear with us if lessons run slightly over.
