“The Red Dot is also about the spirit of entrepreneurial resilience encompasses adaptability, perseverance, resourcefulness, optimism, risk management, and a commitment to learning and growth. Constantly changing landscape, including market fluctuations, technological advancements, and unexpected disruptions demands adaptability and agility from our alumni. Ability to adapt and pivot our strategies, business models, and operations in response to new circumstances or opportunities are essential.
Building a successful business often face numerous setbacks, failures, and obstacles along the way. MOC alumni or Red Dot needs to demonstrate perseverance, maintaining determination and focus despite adversity; failures are just learning experiences.
Resourcefulness and making the most of limited resources, finding creative solutions to problems, and leveraging our extensive networks for support and expertise allow one to find alternative paths to success, even when faced with constraints or challenges. Maintaining a positive outlook is essential for entrepreneurial resilience, believing in our own vision, remain hopeful about the future, and see challenges as opportunities for growth and innovation. Setbacks are tackled with solution-oriented mindset, seeking out silver linings and staying focused on long-term goals.
Good entrepreneurs are risk-takers, skilled at managing and mitigating risks, conducting thorough risk assessments, develop contingency plans, and remain flexible in approach, navigating uncertainties and minimise potential negative impacts on our businesses.
We need to have the commitment towards continuous learning, personal growth and self improvements, mean we should be actively seeking feedback, reflecting on our experiences, and adapt our strategies based on lessons learned. Failures are a natural part of the entrepreneurial journey and opportunity for self-improvement and personal development...” by Dr Jeh SHYAN WONG Retired Veteran Unicorn Venture Capital farmer
