Hi you wonderful kittie loving friends. Just thought I'd share a quick update following our visit to see Maisel yesterday.
Sadly, the damage is worse than we were initially told.
The ilium joint is broken too and on both sides, as is the sacrum, so she has to be operated on urgently and we won't know for weeks, once the swelling has subsided, if there is permanent nerve damage. At the moment, she does respond to touch on her left rear leg, but nothing in the right leg and tail. Nor can she control her bladder either.
So, it's not good news I'm afraid, but on the positive, she was far more alert, responded when she heard our voices and purred when I loved her.
We have our medical at the OFFI in Poitiers this morning, so my dear friend Linda Davidson is collecting Maisel from Melle, then meeting us at the clinic Beaulieu also in Poitiers, where the specialist neuro-surgeon will be operating on her on Friday.
After everything she's been through, this is a bloody nightmare we never thought we'd go through, as she rarely leaves the garden since she found her way home.
So our focus now is to get Maisel back home, get this house ready for sale ASAP and try to keep our new business moving forward.
Sending our deepest gratitude, plus love and hugs to you all. ###
