This isn't really even a feed! it just a single hand of low chaff so they get their vitamins and leave Roxy alone. Some ponies buck the trend when it comes to weightloss on a track. 😵‍💫

Voici quelques questions indispensables à se poser lors de la recherche d'une pension en écurie active ou en (Paddock Paradise) :
​Quel est le type de sol sur le parcours ? Y a-t-il des zones stabilisées et sèches pour l'hiver, ou votre cheval risque-t-il de passer 5 mois de l'année dans la boue ?
​Votre cheval disposera-t-il d'un abri adapté ? Que se passe-t-il en cas d'urgence ? Si votre cheval doit être mis au box pour raison médicale ou d'urgence, l'écurie peut-elle le prendre en charge ?
​Est-il évident que la pension a investi dans des clôtures sécurisées et de qualité ? À quoi ressemblent les installations : sont-elles bien entretenues, propres et globalement sûres ?
​Comment le fourrage est-il stocké et est-il analysé ?
À quelle fréquence les crottins sont-ils ramassés sur la piste ?
​L'établissement est-il déclaré et assuré ? Quelles sont les qualifications et l'expérience du gérant ?
​Ce ne sont là que quelques points à prendre en compte avant d'aborder la question essentielle du prix.
​C'est facile de faire pas cher, mais c'est bien plus difficile de proposer de la qualité.
​Il ne nous reste plus qu'une seule place disponible avant que l'hiver ne s'installe vraiment !

Just a few questions that you should be asking when looking for a track livery.

What sort of footing/surface is there for your horse to walk on, are there dry areas for the winter time? Is your horse is going to be standing around in mud for 5 months of the year?

Does your horse have to proper shelter? What happens in the case of an emergency? If your horse needs to be stabled in an emergency situation can your livery yard provide this?

Is it evident that the livery yard has invested in quality horse safe fencing? What does the facilities look like, well maintained, clean and overall safe?

How is the forage stored, is it tested?
How often are the droppings removed from the track?

Are they registered and insured, what are managers credentials / experience?

These are just a few things to consider before the all important price.

It's easy to be cheap but not easy to be good.

That's it! Winter must be coming.

Saturday I was still in shorts and a tee-shirt. Sunday I had on long legs and a hoodie, Monday Pepito stayed in his rug all day and I needed a waistcoat plus a hat. Tonight apparently the rain is coming and it's here for the rest of the week so Pepito has his neck cover on too. Usually I wouldn't rug yet but Pepito is a special case because he suffers with PSSM so keeping his muscles warm is important for his comfort.
