❄️ Last winter, I’ve shared a few posts about the different steps involved in setting up Alpine Pooch 🏔️🐶: from becoming officially registered, to completing my ACACED training, and getting the right professional insurance.
I also recently shared with you my canine first aid certificate ⛑️ 🐶.

You may have seen the individual posts already… but here they all are together:

1️⃣ Officially registered business at INPI (France's National Register of Enterprises)... as a dog sitter and dog walker 🐕‍🦺🚶🏽‍♀️

2️⃣ ACACED certified (French certification to work professionally with domestic animals)... I actually have the certification to work with dogs 🐶 and cats 🐱

3️⃣ Professionally insured by Orus (RC Pro: professional liability insurance) 🦺🐩 🛟

4️⃣ Canine First Aid certified ⛑️🦮

Meet my pawsonal trainers ☝🏼

Their training method? Lie on the mat, look adorable, and make sure I don't get any exercise done, because they know on the Alpine Pooch Fitness Club the membership includes unlimited cuddles 🤗🥰

Winter is coming, and I've got a brand-new exercise mat (with no holes... yet!), so I can't wait to welcome my pawsonal trainers back for another season of pawfessional supervision and moral support 🤸🏼‍♀️🐕

The inspiration behind our logo ☝🏼

If you’ve ever wondered where the Alpine Pooch logo came from… mystery solved 🕵🏽‍♀️. Cheeto was my inspiring muse 🐕

🐶 The dog silhouette is based on a Podenco... more specifically, a Cheeto silhouette and his unmistakable ears 🐰!

💛 The golden colour is a little nod to Cheeto’s coat, but also to the warmth of the sunshine that we both love so much ☀️ (Actually, who doesn’t love the sun?🙋🏼‍♀️)

🏔️ And the mountains in the background? Well… that one was easy: Alpine Pooch is all about life in the Alps, fresh mountain air and happy dogs 🏞️

A little bit of Cheeto 🐶, a little bit of sunshine ☀️, and a lot of the Alps 🏔️. Every little detail has a meaning, and together they make Alpine Pooch 💛💛💛

During the spring 🌷, I’ve completed the Canine First Aid & Health Online Course (at Animal Love)⛑️🐶, a CPD-certified programme created and taught by a qualified veterinary professional in the UK 🩺.

This training covered how to recognise and respond to emergencies such as choking 🥴, heatstroke 🥵, injuries 🤕, or sudden illness 🤧, as well as how to keep dogs calm 😇 and comfortable in stressful situations 🤯.
You can feel confident that while your dog is with me, they’re in caring and capable hands 🐶🥰❤️.

Small paws 🐾 big adventures🏞️

August at Alpine Pooch was full of lovely little guests 🐶, cuddles 🤗, early wake-up calls ("hello hoooman, are you awake?") 😴, mountain walks 🌄, sunny days ☀️and late-night wee-wee breaks 🚾.

And in between the doggy cuddles, I swapped paws 🐾 for pedals 🚵🏽‍♀️and spent almost a week volunteering at the mountain bike championship🏅.

Plus... got to watch the solar eclipse from the mountains ☀️🌑⛰️ ... it was pawmazing!

🐾📷 PAW-PARAZZI ALERT 🚨

Our casual walk turned into a full-blown photoshoot! 📷🤸🏽‍♀️🐆
Cheeto and I have officially made it onto Google Maps 📍🤭. ️He was trying to hide when he saw the camera, but now he wants his own Wikipedia page 📃 😂

Snifari 👃🏽🕵🏽‍♀️

For us, a walk is mostly physical🚶🏽‍♀️
For dogs, it’s mental too 🤯

🐕 Sniffing is how your dog reads the neighbourhood news 📰:
Who’s been here? What’s changed? Who passed by?

🦮 With around 300 million scent receptors (compared to our 6 million!)🙊, dogs experience the world through their noses👃🏽.

Basically… every walk comes with pee-mail ✉️😂.

🐕‍🦺 Sniffing also helps dogs relax, process information and regulate emotions 🙏🏽.

So don’t rush them past every interesting smell!
Let them sniff and choose where to investigate 🕵🏽‍♀️.

Exercise for the body. Sniffing for the mind. Balance them daily ♎.

July flew by 🚀 and I've been a little quiet on my feed lately 🥹 ... but that's because I've been spending my days doing what I love most: looking after some wonderful long-stay pups 🐶, enjoying plenty of walks 🐾, cuddles 🤗, sunshine ☀️ (and also lots of shade), and making the most of the summer with family too 🥰.

✳️Teddy and Molly are the super twins🐕🐕! They are not actually twins, just have the same great pawrents 👫🏼. But today I will talk about Teddy, who is a lovely Cockapoo with the gentlest nature 🫶🏽. Whether we were out exploring 🐾 or relaxing at home 🥱, he always liked to stay close by 🥰. He was fantastic and wonderfully responsive on walks 🥳, and once back home he was happiest curled up nearby for a cuddle 🤗. Such a kind, affectionate little boy ❤️.

✳️ Rusty is a sweet rescue boy with a lovely calm energy 🙌🏽. He was an absolute pleasure to have around... happy and quiet at home 😇, easy company and wonderfully relaxed 😶‍🌫️. He got on beautifully with Cheeto too, which made him even easier to love 🥰. Even though we just had a few hours together, he left a very good impression and was a pleasure to care for ❤️.
