Mia is friendly, sociable, and always in a good mood. She is good with children, dogs, and cats.
She was abandoned because she was left alone during the day with nothing to do, so she ran away. However, while in foster care, Mia has shown that with time devoted to her, dog friends to play with, and nice, regular walks, she is a great dog, close to humans, well-behaved at home, in the car, and when camping.
Versatile: home/camping/car/walks/hiking/running...
She is the perfect companion for a family that would like a second or third dog and wants to share activities with her.

Alex is a young dog who has already been through several homes... Not because of him, but because of uncertain humans. He never found the right place and was passed from one owner to another.
In his last home, he lived with several dogs who picked on him every day, to the point where he could no longer eat in peace.
Yet Alex is a gentle dog, albeit a little fearful. He gets along well with calm and friendly dogs. Barking or sudden movements stress him out—which is understandable after what he has been through. Malinois are sensitive dogs, real sponges for emotions: they need gentleness, consistency, and guidance.
What he needs now is a stable, fair, and caring family that will finally offer him security and trust (he is not familiar with cats or children). We hope he finds a peaceful and stimulating home.
Alex is a very affectionate, attentive dog, eager to learn and share.
Give him a chance before life at the shelter becomes too much for him and allow him to reveal what a wonderful companion he is.

Malou was found wandering the streets after a spell in the pound, and was taken in by the association.
He is intelligent and eager to learn, enjoys his walks and spending time in the recreation park.
He needs someone to continue his training in a loving home where he will bond and give his complete trust.
We do not know why he was wandering, but he will probably need a secure garden.

Champion is a remarkable dog. He can be quite boisterous at first, but he behaved impeccably at the vet, even when several other dogs were barking at him, and seemed completely indifferent to the meowing of nearby cats.
During the 55-minute drive back to the shelter, he simply lay down in the car and was very happy to get in and out of the vehicle.
He sits on command and gives you his paw.
He doesn't pull on his lead, which makes walking him a pleasure.
He is very affectionate and almost purrs when you gently stroke him around the ears.

Paco, 6 years old, finds himself all alone. He grew up in a home, surrounded by love and reassurance... until his family's professional life changed. Today, he is bored, waiting, hoping, day after day. Minute after minute, hour after hour, his days are far too long, his only companion... loneliness. Overnight, winter reminded us who’s in charge.

Heavy snow and ice meant that none of our usual Tuesday team could safely reach Galia in Fontenay-le-Comte. Roads were blocked, paths were like glass, and walking the dogs was simply impossible. For a while, the biggest worry was a very basic one: making sure the dogs would be fed and watered.

After many calls and a lot of determination, two of the nearest volunteers managed to get through.

“No walking today – it’s far too slippery. The huskies would have loved the snow. But the important thing is that every dog has food in their tummy to help keep them warm.”

This is what volunteering at Galia really looks like. Not just sunny days and happy walks, but commitment, teamwork, and showing up when it’s difficult. The dogs don’t know it’s snowing or that roads are bad – they just know when someone comes through the gate.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make sure no dog went hungry today.
