Moulting season, a great time for getting donkeys used to grooming. While in general they are very tactile, those with less handling experience and less confidence with humans need to take it slow and find the joy with scratches and gentle touch.

What a great day that was. Hair Styles in the stables was a big success yet again. Christophe had 2 helpers this time and everything ran like clockwork. Christophe worked his hair magic, the fizz flowed, there was laughter, friendship, donkey love and of course donkey cuddles. Princesse especially enjoyed smooching with Richard while his wife Bev had her hair cut. There were sandwiches, home made cakes and great banter. Then, later in the afternoon Christophe and Grace drew the raffle tickets. We managed to contact everyone that won, hurrah. We also managed to raise €990 for hair cuts and donations and nearly €600 in raffle tickets. Thanks to all involved, especially Christophe ❤️ It was a really fabulous day. All proceeds going to the wellbeing of our lovely donkeys ❤️❤️❤️

Today, is World Donkey Day ❤️🫏🫏🫏🫏🫏❤️

Donkeys are one of the most gentle, loving, intelligent and misunderstood animals in the world. We currently have 23 donkeys under our care. Every single one has their own story, personality and journey — and every one of them deserves kindness, safety and respect.
Donkeys are far more than working animals. They are soulful, affectionate companions who form deep bonds with people and with each other. They are cuddly, cheeky, playful and incredibly intelligent, with fantastic memories and a remarkable ability to trust again, even after hardship.
Sadly, across the world, many donkeys still suffer through neglect, abuse, overwork and abandonment. Too often they are underestimated, overlooked or treated as disposable, despite all they give so willingly.
Today, you can help us celebrate our long-eared friends by donating a €1. If all our supporters donated just 1€ or the price of a cup of coffee it would help us help care for our wonderful rescues.
