At the stables where I work, a mother cat showed up with 6 little kittens. She was extremely skinny and we were very worried for her. So, of course, we got food and helped them along for several months. The owner of the stables had them neutered and eventually I found a home for 3 and adopted the remaining 3 ourselves. Mama cat is still at the stables.

We now have 8 rescued cats in our household, and Mar has 4. That makes 12 Clan Boucheron cats! It wasn't planned, but here we are.

The little ones settled in so nice. It all went so smooth. It helped that we knew them since they were really wee, and their struggling, skinny mum, came for help......

Last Monday I did a 3 hr round trip to check on the other 3 and was very happy to see they found a really good home too. They are on a lovely campsite which will make a great playground, looked after by a lovely family. Happy days. These are our three ; Sidney, Sadie and Bambam

The good stuff :

Jip is happy, healthy and has recovered very well from her injuries after a marter attack. In her mind she is ready to go back to the rest, but we will leave her out with Esmee until all her wounds are healed and all feathers are back. But she made it, the cuty pie.

Also: after the loss of F***y, we now seem to have a wee egg..... Are we to have baby doves??? Is one girl maybe not so much a girl???? To be continued

Ik had wat houten haspels gekocht voor een parasol project bij ons en zag toen een kleintje die wat plankjes misste. Ik bedacht dat dit mischien wel eens een leuk hokje kon zijn voor ons eenbenig meisje Esmee. Ze zit snachts veilig bij de rest in het nachhok hoor, maar dit is voor jaar eitjes, schuilen en zo overdag. Ik moet het nog bewerken, kiertjes en zo, maar ze schijnt het al goedgekeurd te hebben 😊 kan ik de tijdelijke en lelijke oplossing weg halen.....

This morning we went to Montlucon to pick up some wooden cable drums for my parasol project.... On the way home we saw an injured buzzard on the road. Just two days ago I caught an injured kestrel to take it to the vet, but John had to kill it because it was too far gone. Heartbreaking. John caught the buzzard today and we tried again. It looked like there was a good chance for this bird. That would have cheered us up a fair bit. I called around and we ended up driving nearly an hour each way drop it off at a hospital for wildlife. The buzzard is sedated and bandaged up until the vet arrives and can decide if he/she can be rescued. Prognosis is not so good. We keep our chins up knowing that at least we care and try. We will find out. We will also find out if my parasols project will work....

Wtf? When I went to secure the chooks for the night I found a white dove roosting with them.... At first it sat along the rest on the front perch, but when I came back from getting my camera, it had moved to the back. Somehow very moving..... Wow... Just like that...
