When a furry family member is first introduced to a new home, both pets and pet parents have new things and routines to learn. Musti wants to ensure that all its employees in Finland, Sweden and Norway have a chance to create a strong bond with their new pets and offers the possibility for a 3-day paid Pawternity leave.

Employees can stay on Pawternity leave once every year, and it is available for all Musti’s employees – whether they work at Musti’s offices, stores or warehouses. Musti launched Pawternity leave in 2018, and it has been popular among employees ever since.

The employees’ pets are also welcome to the office and to staff facilities at all Musti’s stores. For instance, young puppies cannot stay alone at home the whole day, so taking them to the office or to a Musti store helps many pet parents.

Musti Group has signed a Share Purchase Agreement to acquire Pet City OÜ (Pet City) and Pet City Klinika UAB for an Enterprise Value of EUR 18.0 million, the settlement of the acquisition will be in cash. The acquisition is expected to be completed before the end of 2024.

Musti Group has published a supplement to the stock exchange release in respect of the settlement of the acquisition in cash and provides additional financial information reflecting the financial position of Pet City OÜ.

A pet’s well-being starts with pet parents’ knowledge of good nutrition – Musti supports pet parents in increasing their knowledge

Sales personnel’s expertise in good nutrition is crucial when pet parents make decisions about pet food shopping at our stores. Musti arranges training for its sales personnel so that they can share their knowledge about good nutrition with pet parents and enhance pets’ welfare.

“There is a broad spectrum of educational opportunities, from the onboarding of new employees and mandatory self-study courses on the e-learning platform to coffee break conversations. We have also noticed that it has become a habit to discuss pet nutrition and food with co-workers to learn from each other. Sharing the learnings with our customers is important for the sales personnel,” says Lovisa Kallerhult, Service Administrator and Educator at Arken Zoo.

For instance, Musti has responded to sales personnel and customers’ need for information about the effects of pet nutrition on pet well-being by launching an educational program called Nutrition Deep Dive (“Foderprat”) for store personnel in Sweden and Norway. The program has received great feedback.
