Meet the friendliest kitten ever 😍
When we were sitting on the street to get a good look at the kitten with the neck wound this beautiful boy plopped himself down on our lap! He had been hanging around the colony for 2 days and apparently was abandoned there 😢. He followed us all the way home, which is several streets away 😮 There was no choice but to foster this loving, outgoing, funny kitten 😉, who now needs his forever home 🖤🐈‍⬛

This little girl comes from our newest cat colony. She disappeared for 2 days and came back with a terrible wound on her neck. We were shocked when we saw it, and decided to bring her in to the vet. Luckily she is very tame, and allowed us to catch her straight away. She is getting treatment twice a day and patiently lets us do what needs to be done. A star patient 🤩 She is 6 months old, and will be up for adoption once her neck is healed 💕

Today a volunteer group of neighbors came together to help us set our fence back up after it got swept away in the horrible Valencian flooding! They came with tools and energy and after an hour of hard work a temporary fence was erected 🎉🤗. There is still a lot of mud and debris to clean up, but we are slowly getting there! We are so grateful for the support and kindness of our neighbors, and the dogs are very happy to be able to enjoy the garden again ❤️☀️

A King Foster Home Update:
We are getting many messages asking if we are okay after a powerful storm caused severe flash flooding in the Valencia region, and the worst natural disaster in Spain’s recent history. One year’s worth of rain poured down in 8 hours! Luckily we live uphill, so we do not have as much damage as people in the village. We had no electricity for a day and we still don’t have WiFi. Parts of the house flooded up to our ankles, some of our garden was damaged and our perimeter fence was washed away. But our dogs, cats, pigeons, sheep and family are all fine 🤗
We were really worried about the cats in our colonies but have seen almost all of them today🤞

We have lots of cleaning up to do, and fixing the perimeter fence (first temporarily) so that the dogs can be off leash in the garden again is a high priority! The loss of lives and infrastructure in this region is devastating however. We are so grateful that people are thinking of us in this hard time, Valencia needs your positive thoughts! 💪🌈❤️

Get to Know Us

We are a family of four living in the sunny Valencia, Spain. We have six cats and six dogs ourselves; a Spanish Waterdog, a Border Collie mix, a Boston Terrier, a Short-Haired Pointer, a miniature Pinscher, and a Pointer mix that we adopted as puppies! When we moved to Spain we were shocked by all the strays here and wanted to do something to help. First we tried volunteering at different shelters but now we mainly foster, and work with the animal shelter Jadoul Mes que Gossos. We try to make the situation here a little better by getting some dogs and cats off the streets and into the loving homes they deserve. The number of dogs that we have in our house always changes, but the largest number has been 18 in 2016 when we fostered a female and her 11 puppies! We aim for not only Spanish, but also international adoptions, and many of the dogs we have fostered have been adopted in the UK, the Netherlands, Norway, Belgium and Germany. We sometimes also foster cats, and recently (end of 2017) had 15 in the house! Its safe to say our house is always a happy and hairy chaos!
