Our beloved cat, Marley, went missing yesterday (June 3rd). He is a neutered male and means the world to us — we’re very worried.

If anyone has seen him or has any information about his whereabouts, please contact us immediately! He may have hidden somewhere or gotten trapped in a garage, shed, basement, or under a porch — please check around your property.

Caring for the dogs to a high standard comes way before posting on social media...so I'm often behind with posts.
Here are some phots from the last couple of week, we don't record everything we do...this is only a tiny sample. I will put some details on the photos. As always thanks for your support.

Two weeks ago we took a podenca from the streets in Torrox Costa, she had gone into a cafe looking for food. She was seen several times in the days before this, many people had contacted us expressing concern about her terrible condition. She had obviously given birth reccently. She had no microchip but we had suspicions about where she lived. Thankfully with the help of Victoria and Policia Local de Torrox we were able to bring her seven pups to safety (We will say no more on this case at the moment)
Our vet was entrusted to give her a pretty name..so she is now called Tiara.
Unfortunately, with research of uncommon symotoms (mainly unable to open mouth and serious muscle wastage in the face) our vet believed she has masticatory muscle myositis. We also took her to a vet refferal centre and they agreed this is likely.
She has started treatment - sadly the medication is dangerous for her pups so they are no longer allowed to drink her milk and have been weaned early.
Tiara is such a loving sweet dog.
We hope that she can recover well....the next review will be in 3 weeks...but the treatment will likely last months.

Hace dos semanas recogimos una podenca de las calles de Torrox Costa. Había entrado en una cafetería buscando comida. La habían visto varias veces en los días previos; mucha gente nos había contactado expresando su preocupación por su terrible estado. Obviamente, había dado a luz recientemente. No tenía microchip, pero teníamos sospechas sobre su lugar de residencia. Afortunadamente, con la ayuda de Victoria y la Policía Local de Torrox, pudimos poner a salvo a sus siete cachorros (no diremos más sobre este caso por ahora).
Nuestro veterinario se encargó de ponerle un nombre bonito, así que ahora se llama Tiara.
Desafortunadamente, tras investigar síntomas poco comunes (principalmente incapacidad para abrir la boca y una grave pérdida de masa muscular en la cara), nuestro veterinario creyó que tenía miositis de los músculos masticatorios. También la llevamos a un centro veterinario de referencia y coincidieron en que era probable.
Ha comenzado el tratamiento; lamentablemente, la medicación es peligrosa para sus cachorros, por lo que ya no pueden beber su leche y han sido destetados prematuramente. Tiara es una perrita muy cariñosa.
Esperamos que se recupere bien... la próxima revisión será en 3 semanas... pero el tratamiento probablemente durará meses.

Marco arrived 2 weeks ago, he was found abandoned - no microchip. On arrival he was obviously sick with plenty of symptoms. Fever, lesions in his ears, swollen joints, lethargy etc. Blood tests confirmed active leishmania and Ehrlichia (a tick-borne disease)
To date his veterinary costs are approx 400 euros. He is already feeling much better - if anyone would like to donate towards his ongoing care this would appreciated.

Marco llegó hace dos semanas. Lo encontraron abandonado, sin microchip. Al llegar, estaba claramente enfermo y presentaba muchos síntomas: fiebre, lesiones en el oído, articulaciones inflamadas, letargo, etc. Los análisis de sangre confirmaron leishmania y ehrlichia activas (una enfermedad transmitida por garrapatas).
Hasta la fecha, su coste veterinario ha sido de aproximadamente 400 euros. Ya se encuentra mucho mejor; si alguien quisiera donar para su cuidado continuo, se lo agradeceríamos.

The refuge is beyond full and we are also supporting many dogs and some cats in foster houses. At this point we can not take more dogs. There simply is not space and not enough time in the day to give them quality care. The welfare of the dogs already here must take priority. The only exception is very young (unweaned) pups if they are found abandoned locally - we have a foster available.

El refugio está al límite de su capacidad y también estamos acogiendo a muchos perros y algunos gatos en casas de acogida. En este momento no podemos aceptar más perros. Simplemente no hay espacio ni tiempo suficiente durante el día para brindarles un cuidado de calidad. El bienestar de los perros que ya están aquí debe ser nuestra prioridad. La única excepción son los cachorros muy jóvenes (lactantes) que se encuentran abandonados en la zona; tenemos una casa de acogida disponible.
