🇪🇸🐶💩🩺Frankie llevaba unos meses con problemas intestinales (diarrea, inapetencia) que no respondían al tratamiento habitual. Después de realizar pruebas para descartar enfermedades infecciosas, parasitarias, etc. Se realizó una ecografía abdominal donde hallamos una gran distensión de un área del intestino con mucha inflamación y que no dejaba pasar el tránsito. Optamos por realizar una laparotomía exploratoria para valorar la zona afectada, la cual estaba muy inflamada. Aprovechamos para tomar muestras para biopsia que nos dio como resultado una enfermedad inflamatoria intestinal cuya causa es inmunomediada.

🇬🇧🐶💩🩺Frankie had been experiencing intestinal problems (diarrhoea, loss of appetite) for several months that did not respond to the usual treatment. After performing tests to rule out infectious diseases, parasites, etc. An abdominal ultrasound was performed, revealing significant distension in an area of the intestine with severe inflammation that was blocking transit. We opted to perform an exploratory laparotomy to assess the affected area, which was severely inflamed. We took the opportunity to take samples for biopsy, which revealed an immune-mediated inflammatory bowel disease.

🇬🇧🦴Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint disease that causes pain, stiffness and loss of movement due to cartilage wear. Large and medium-sized breeds are most affected, but small breeds can also suffer from osteoarthritis.

🩺The most common symptoms are lameness and stiffness, which become much more evident after a period of rest. Dogs suffering from osteoarthritis have considerable difficulty moving and performing certain exercises such as jumping, playing with a ball, climbing stairs or even getting up from a lying position. Some of them lick their joints, may experience behavioural changes, be in a bad mood, even become aggressive, and often experience pain when touched.

💊💉This disease can be treated with anti-inflammatories, and there are now even monoclonal antibodies that greatly help to relieve pain and give our pets a much better quality of life.

🇪🇸🐶Él es Byron, fue encontrado en el campo vagando con apenas 6 meses de vida. La familia que lo encontró no se lo ha pensado mucho, a pesar de no querer tener más perros lo adoptaron, le trayeron a la clínica y le proporcionaron cariño y amor. Al principio estaba muy delgado y tuvo gastroenteritis, pero después de recuperarse, está al día de sus vacunas esperando para ser castrado. Es un perro muy juguetón y feliz.

🇬🇧🐶This is Byron. He was found wandering in the countryside when he was just six months old. The family who found him didn't think twice. Even though they didn't want any more dogs, they adopted him, brought him to the clinic and gave him love and affection. At first he was very thin and had gastroenteritis, but after recovering, he is now up to date with his vaccinations and waiting to be neutered. He is a very playful and happy dog.

🇬🇧🩺🐈Kidney disease occurs when one or both kidneys stop functioning, seriously affecting their ability to filter waste from the body through urine. As a result, waste remains in the blood, ultimately causing the cat to become intoxicated.
🩸🩻This disease is diagnosed through a simple blood test, and when we see that these kidney values are elevated, it is also recommended to rule out any other problems such as a urinary tract infection that could affect these parameters, or an ultrasound scan and X-ray to rule out kidney stones, bladder stones or other types of urinary obstruction that could be hindering the kidneys' ability to eliminate waste.
💧🏥In more advanced stages, the best way we can help the cat is with fluid therapy. We hospitalise them, insert a catheter and keep them for one, two or three days, depending on how much fluid they need. This is to help the kidney eliminate as many toxic substances as possible.
🗓️❗Routine check-ups are very important, at least once a year, to prevent or try to prevent diseases such as chronic renal failure, which our kitties suffer from so much.

🇪🇸🐶Hada tiene 9 años y está fértil. Se presentó en consulta con anorexia, letargia y diarrea intermitente de varias semanas que ha empeorado en los últimos días e hipertermia. También tenía los cuartos traseros manchados por una descarga vaginal purulenta.

🩺El cuadro clínico apunta a que Hada tiene una piometra, una infección uterina grave que puede poner en peligro su vida. En ocasiones no presentan descarga vaginal, lo que se conoce como piometra cerrada, más grave aún, y se puede confirmar por ecografía. El tratamiento es quirúrgico mediante la castración (ovariohisterectomía) y médico con antiinflamatorios y antibióticos.
✨Gracias a la rápida intervención, Hada hoy por hoy está sana y recuperada.
