We help with various aspect that that locals often can’t afford, as much as they love their animals, e.g. Just get in touch find out what is needed.

“Amigues patud da Mia em Cabo Verde” is cape verdian creole for “Mia’s furry friends in Cape Verde”

We are a group founded by Martin and Elizabeth Holzke in 2025 supporting animals in need in Cape Verde, namely on the island of Sal. feeding, treating them against ticks, fleas, worms and other parasites, arrange vet visits as required, support neutering efforts etc. The work of our volunteers on

the ground in Sal entirely depends on donations from people world-wide. Many things like treatments or special food is difficult to get in Sal and hence regularly are brought by people coming out to Sal and gratefully received. Likewise, we are grateful for financial donations to cover costs for food, treatments, vet bills and sometimes required transport. We have a Wise multi-currency account in my name, Martin Holzke, that way cutting out international bank and credit fees:

Finally, we want to stress that we are one of multiple animal help groups and associations in Sal. It is very important to us that this isn't a competition. We all serve the animals in each our own way and that's fine.

It's not very often we ask for anything but if anyone is coming over to Sal in the next few months, would it be possible.to bring some flea and tick pippetes for cats. Thanks

Another successful feeding trip despite the high temperature. If anyone is coming out to Sal in the next few weeks can I ask if possible can you bring some tick and flea treatment for cats as we don't have any at the moment
