Rota Animal Welfare League - RAWL Rota Animal Welfare League (RAWL) is a non-profit animal care facility on NAVSTA Rota military base sustained entirely by community donations and volunteers.

Our number one mission at RAWL is connecting animals with loving, caring, forever families. Rota Animal Welfare League (RAWL) is an animal shelter that finds homes for dogs and cats, and relies on volunteers of NS Rota, Spain to care for those animals.

Happy September, Rota!

To celebrate the start of a new month and a new season, RAWL is offering reduced adoption fees for all cats adopted between September 1st and September 30th!

We have so many adorable cats waiting to find their forever homes and we hope there's someone out there for each one of them! If you're interested in meeting our cats, stop by during our weekend hours (2:30-5:30pm every Saturday) or send us an email at [email protected]/send us a message here on Facebook to schedule an appointment.

We also have some cat-themed events planned so keep an eye on our page for updates!

We have quite a few openings this week for dog shift! If you've completed a RAWL volunteer orientation, please consider signing up and help Scar, Betun, and Paul get the love and attention they deserve!

WISHLIST WEDNESDAY

As you may (or may not!) know, RAWL receives no funding/support from any institution; we are completed reliant on the exemplary generosity of the Rota military community. Below are the items we need most this week, as well as ways to support us financially.

We have a donation box right outside our gate (shaped like a green dog house) that is checked daily so donations can be left at the shelter at any time.

Happy National Dog Day!

We are so in love with our four resident dogs and we want nothing more than to see them in the best homes possible! Scar, Betun, Paul, and Sparrow brighten the days of every RAWL board member but what would brighten our days even more is to find them brand new forever families!

Looking for something to do this week? If you've been through a RAWL volunteer orientation we have quite a few openings for both dog and cat shifts and we know our dogs and cats would deeply appreciate your help in filling them!

Sir Paul McBarkney, the Spanish Mastiff, out for an adventure around the shelter!

He's around a year old and was saved from being neglected and left in a field.

He's such a fun loving, yet distinguished gentleman!

He is neutered, vaccinated, negative for disease, and microchipped.

So we try to keep posts like these limited to Wednesday but at the moment, this is all the wet dog food we have left. We would deeply appreciate any donation of wet dog food (commissary brands preferred) and our resident dogs would appreciate it just as much!

RAWL has a donation box right outside our gate (shaped like a green dog house) and you can leave donations there at any time. The box is checked daily!
