Hace 50 años Loro Parque nació en poco más de una hectárea como el paraíso de los papagayos en Puerto de la Cruz – Tenerife (España).

🇪🇸 ¡Buenas noticias para la biodiversidad de Canarias! 🌱
Gracias al esfuerzo conjunto de Loro Parque Fundación, , , y la UICN, varias especies de caracoles endémicos han mejorado su estado en la Lista Roja.
📉 Tras más de 10 años sin datos actualizados, se evaluaron más de 30 especies y las que estaban en peligro crítico pasaron de 30 a 28.
Este trabajo incluye nuevos mapas de distribución y el redescubrimiento de poblaciones no vistas en décadas. Aunque el avance es positivo, todavía hay especies en riesgo, por lo que debemos seguir trabajando juntos.

🇬🇧 Good news for Canary Islands biodiversity! 🌱
Thanks to the joint efforts of Loro Parque Fundación, , , , and IUCN, several endemic land snail species have improved their conservation status on the Red List.
📉 After more than 10 years without updated data, over 30 species were reassessed, and critically endangered species dropped from 30 to 28.
This work includes new distribution maps and rediscovery of populations unseen for decades. Progress is positive, but some species remain at risk, so conservation efforts must continue.

We had the privilege of welcoming the iconic Gloria Estefan to Loro Parque — one of the most celebrated voices in Latin music and a global cultural icon. Accompanied by her husband, the renowned producer Emilio Estefan, and their family, they enjoyed an unforgettable visit with us.

It was a true honor for our entire team to host them and to share our dedication to conservation and animal welfare.

Yesterday was Shark Awareness Day 🦈💥

A day to remember how important these incredible ocean predators are — like the ones living at Loro Parque:

🔹 Nurse shark
🔹 Zebra shark
🔹 Bamboo shark
🔹 Blacktip reef shark
🔹 Guitarfish
🔹 Short-tail nurse shark
🔹 Small-spotted catshark

They are vital for ocean balance… and truly amazing!

Many of these species are threatened. Their conservation is in our hands.
