“The Shell That Remembers”
They say the Turtle carries more than her shell.
She carries stories — old ones, long forgotten by the wind but remembered by the Earth.
When a child is born, the Turtle passes by silently, leaving a mark in the soil.
When an elder passes, she circles the waters near the village, as if gathering their last breath into the deep.
The elders say:
“If you see a Turtle cross your path, do not rush past her — she walks with those who came before you.”
Turtle teaches us to remember.
To listen to the quiet ones.
To honor the past not by speaking of it loudly, but by carrying it gently.
She does not live fast, but she lives fully.
And when she rests, the world slows down with her —
just long enough for you to hear what you forgot to feel.
