Today Nieves accompanied our galgos

Palomo, Pupa, Ghost, Javier and Rhianna 🥰🥰🥰
to Madrid airport, where they were entrusted to Daphne Legacy Tour, who will travel with them all the way to Chicago and into their new lives in the United States!

Thanks to this wonderful collaboration, our beloved galgos can begin a new chapter across the ocean, surrounded by love and freedom.

A huge thank you to Daphne Legacy Tour for their commitment, dedication, and for continuing to find loving homes for our dogs in the US — and for organizing these precious journeys towards happiness. 💛

When he first arrived at the shelter, Matías was very timid and wary of humans.
With patience and time, he has made great progress: now, when volunteers pass by his paddock, he greets them with happiness💛

Matías needs a patient family who can respect his pace, and a calm and balanced dog to guide him and help him build trust and confidence.!

He needs a loving home tò continue growing happily.

TILIN 2021

Tilín is a young, tall and impressive galgo, big size and full of charm. With people he’s very friendly, funny and affectionate — he loves company and wins everyone’s heart right away.

He walks nicely on the leash, although he’s a big and strong dog. At the shelter he can be a little possessive over food, a behavior that usually disappears once he’s in a family.

He can live perfectly well with calm and balanced dogs. Tilín is a young dog full of energy, with great presence and personality.

📍 Arrived at Scooby together with his brother Porthos

Athos is a young galgo, born in 2022 and rescued together with his brother Porthos.
He’s still a bit wary of people, but he’s very well socialized with other dogs — calm, balanced, and happy in their company.

Life hasn’t been easy for him, but at Scooby he’s slowly learning that he can trust again, that gentle hands exist, and that love doesn’t hurt.

💚 Athos is looking for a quiet, patient, and sensitive family — someone who will give him time, understanding, and the space he needs to blossom.

🐾 MORROCOY – male galgo, born 2022
Black and white, sweet, gentle eyes ❤️

Morrocoy arrived from the perrera in February 2024. He used to be very shy and scared, but now he is slowly opening up. He still needs some time with people, but his heart is full of love to give. With other dogs, he is a true friend and lives happily with a small group of shy galgos. The tip of his tail was amputated due to an infection, but it hasn’t dimmed his spirit.

He is looking for a patient and loving home, ideally with another calm dog, where he can finally feel safe and discover the joy of family life. He truly deserves to leave the shelter and start the life he dreams of. 🌟🏡

🚨 URGENT – PROTECT HUNTING DOGS 🚨

Act NOW – Deadline: October 28

After being excluded from the Animal Welfare Law, the only remaining hope to protect hunting and working dogs was their inclusion in the new Royal Decree on animal facilities — which would guarantee minimum welfare standards.

⚠️ Now they want to exclude them AGAIN.
They plan to leave their regulation to the Ministry of Agriculture, which would only require a chip and registration — no welfare rules, no inspections, no protection.

🛑 THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.
They would be left even more defenceless.

Compatibility: ideal with one or more confident, sociable dogs

Kris is still wary of people, but he is making small steps forward every day. His curiosity is slowly emerging, and in a calm, dog-friendly family environment, he can finally open up and gain confidence.

At the shelter, he shows steady progress and willingness to interact. He just needs the right environment and plenty of patience.

We are looking for a loving family for him, ideally with at least one guide dog, who can help him blossom at his own pace and provide a safe, peaceful life. He truly needs this.

Whoever can offer him the right home will finally give him the chance to live the life he dreams of.

Great news at the shelter: so many joyful departures!
We are certain that a wonderful life now awaits them with the people who chose them and already love them.

🐾 Mirlo left with his new mum and will finally enjoy his private pool — a real blessing for this young galgo who loves water!

🐾 Tina met her whole family, who came to the shelter to take her home and give her the warmest welcome possible. After everything she has been through, she can finally live safe, calm and happy.

🐾 Lea went home to Madrid with her mum, where she will live like a princess, surrounded by love and attention.

To Mirlo, Tina and Lea, and to their families, we wish a long and very happy life together.
