🐹 Basic Care for Guinea Pigs: Cage Edition! 🧡

Thinking of adopting a guinea pig? Start with the right home! 🏡

Here’s what your piggy’s dream cage should include:

🔸 Size Matters – At least 7.5 sq ft for one, but bigger is always better! Think spacious, not just cute.

🔸 Bedding Basics – Soft, absorbent, and safe. Avoid cedar or pine shavings! Opt for paper-based bedding or fleece liners.

🔸 Ventilation is Vital – Avoid glass tanks! Choose a wire-top cage with good airflow to keep your piggy healthy.

🔸 Clean Corner – Spot clean daily, deep clean weekly. A clean home = a happy, sniffle-free pig!

🔸 Hide & Seek – Add hideouts and tunnels so they can feel safe and entertained.

Your guinea pig’s cage is their whole world — make it cozy, clean, and fun! 💛

🐝 BEWARE OF WASPS – PROTECT YOUR DOG! 🐶

Summer brings sunshine, long walks… and wasps. These buzzing pests can be more than just annoying — they can seriously harm your dog! 🐾

🚫 Dogs love to chase and snap at flying insects, but a wasp sting (especially in the mouth, face, or throat) can lead to:

⚠️ Swelling
⚠️ Pain & irritation
⚠️ Allergic reactions
⚠️ Difficulty breathing (in severe cases)

👉 What to watch for:

Whining, pawing at the face

Sudden swelling

Drooling or vomiting

Difficulty breathing or collapse (seek emergency help!)

🩺 If you suspect your dog was stung, contact your vet right away. You can also keep antihistamines on hand — but ONLY use them under vet guidance.

💡 Prevention tips:

Avoid areas with lots of flowers or trash (wasp magnets!)

Supervise outdoor play

Keep sugary drinks & food away from your dog
