Your horse doesn’t just meet you at the stable. He meets everything you carried there.

The rushed morning.
The argument still sitting in your chest.
The list in your head.
The pressure you haven’t quite put down yet.

We often think the ride begins when we put our foot in the stirrup.

But it begins much earlier.

It begins in the way we walk into the stable.
In our breath.
Our pace.
Our hands.
Our attention.

And this is the part I think we underestimate:

Your horse doesn’t need you to arrive perfectly calm.

He needs you to notice where you are.

Because once you notice it, you have a choice.

You can slow down.
Take one breath.
Stand with him for a moment.
Let your body arrive before you ask his to settle.

That small pause can change the entire conversation between you.

This is exactly the work behind UNSPIRAL — understanding your own nervous system, your horse’s responses, and how the two of you affect each other long before a ride “goes wrong.”

If you want to understand your own riding patterns a little better, comment RIDER and I’ll send you the quiz. 🤎

Because sometimes the first thing that needs resetting isn’t the horse.

It’s us.

Some horses tell you very clearly when they are ready.
And some tell you just as clearly when they are not.
Deseado was always intended to become a super nice riding horse. But physically, he simply needed more time, so we gave it to him.
No rush. No race against the calendar.
He stayed out, grew, developed — and now, at four, we have finally brought him in to begin his work.
And I’m rather glad we waited.
Yesterday Helena came upstairs after spending time with him and told me how incredibly sweet he is.
That made me smile.
Because behind the slightly round four-year-old body is a really lovely young horse who is beginning to show us who he might become.
And yes… I think he’s pretty damn beautiful. 🤎

The last few weeks have been intense.

I’ve been living and breathing UNSPIRAL—writing, filming, editing, rethinking, creating… and pouring years of experience into something I truly believe can help riders find their way back to confidence.

Now it’s time for something just as important.

A reset.

I’m taking a few days off to breathe, spend time with the people I love, walk through the forests of Germany, recharge, and let my own nervous system settle.

Because here’s the truth…

We don’t become better riders by constantly pushing harder.

We become better when we know when to pause.

That’s exactly what I teach inside UNSPIRAL.

Rest isn’t weakness.

It’s regulation.

Thank you for being here, for following this journey, and for cheering me on while this dream became reality.

I’ll be back very soon—with fresh ideas, fresh energy, and a heart that’s even more excited to help you and your horse.

See you after the reset. 🤍

You’re the rider who has loved horses your whole life. And lately, part of you dreads the ride you used to live for.
You check the weather twice. You feel a flicker of relief when the lesson gets cancelled. You adore him on the
ground, then tighten the moment your foot finds the stirrup. If that is you, stay with me.
I teach riders to feel calm and safe in the saddle. That does not mean I never felt afraid. I have ridden since I was six.
Ba****ck, hitting the ground more times than I can count, getting back on anyway. Horses have been my whole life.
And fear still found its way in.
Here is what I learned the slow way. Fear that lives in the body did not come to shame you. It came to protect you,
after a moment your nervous system decided riding was not safe. You cannot argue it away with logic. Positive
thinking will not touch it. Pushing harder only teaches your body that riding means bracing.
What finally shifted things was understanding what was happening inside my own nervous system, and learning to
settle it before I ever picked up a rein. Fear that was learned can be retrained.
So if riding anxiety has crept in, hear me clearly. You are not dramatic. You are not failing. Your body learned that
riding needed protecting. It can learn something calmer.
Comment ME TOO if fear has ever crept into your riding, and let’s talk about it in the open instead of hiding it.

three fillies this morning. 🤍

Holy, Heaven and Scarlett enjoying a slow summer morning on our finca in Mallorca.

No rush.

Just sunshine, fresh air, their herd… and the kind of peaceful moments I wish I could bottle up forever.

Honestly, I could stand here for hours just watching young horses grow up together.

Sometimes the quiet moments are my favourite ones.

Every nervous rider has heard it a hundred times. Just relax. Breathe. Don’t think about it. And every time, it works for about four seconds — then your body does its own thing anyway.
Here’s the truth nobody tells you: you can’t think your way calm. Your body reacts faster than your thoughts. So „just relax“ was never going to work — and it’s not your fault it didn’t.
What works is knowing where the tension starts, and having one small thing to do in the next few seconds. Not fearless. Free.
I built a free check that shows you exactly where yours begins.
Comment RIDER and I’ll send it to you.

27 degrees this morning. after yesterday’s 37, it feels like someone opened a window on the whole island. 🌬️

you can see it in the horses — softer eyes, slower steps, shoulders down. the heat held everyone tight for days, and this morning the whole Finca just… exhaled.

and honestly? that’s the thing i talk about all the time, just wearing different clothes. a body — horse or human — doesn’t soften because you tell it to. it softens when it finally feels safe enough to.

the heat breaks. the shoulders drop. the breath comes back.

good morning from Mallorca. 🐴

what makes your body finally exhale? 👇

your horse is reacting to a thought you didn’t know you had. 🤍

sounds impossible — so let me tell you about my favourite study. riders were told an umbrella would open on their next pass. it never opened — but the moment they braced for it, their horses’ heart rates rose too.

the horses knew nothing about an umbrella. they only knew their person.

(Linda Keeling, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences.)

this is why i talk about the nervous system so much. not because anyone’s doing anything wrong — but because we’re always communicating with them, through our bodies, whether we mean to or not.

the good news: a calmer body isn’t a talent, it’s a skill. that’s the whole heart of Unspiral — learning to send your horse a quieter signal.

Ethan reminds me every single day. 🐴
