Yesterday on the plane, I read something about courage – and how rarely we have enough of it to really show ourselves.
In the saddle, most of us wear a mask. Chin up, smile, everything under control. But horses don’t buy the mask. They feel what’s underneath anyway.
So here’s your permission: you’re allowed to be vulnerable with your horse. That’s the moment you’re finally honest with yourself – and that’s the human he can trust.

Your horse feels you before you get on.
The walk to the barn. The grooming. The girth. Most of us are already in the arena in our heads – riding the worst case, making ten plans, forgetting to breathe.
And he feels every single one of them.
So I start where he starts: one long breath out at the stable door. One thought, not ten. Then I get on.

A foal’s first morning is a whole new planet. New light. New sounds. New smells. Everything is big.
Here’s what most people forget: every horse lands on a new planet again. Every time he moves. New stable, new herd, new people, new routine. Your new horse doesn’t know yet that he’s safe with you.
So the first weeks aren’t about training. They’re about landing.

Saturdays at Es Ravella look like this ☀️
Monday to Friday is dressage, hacking and groundwork. Saturday is free time: no plan, no pressure, just moving the way they want to.
Aragon somehow found the only puddle on the whole finca (please don’t ask). Dominguero looked bored... until we took him out on the trails. And little Deseado? Done after five minutes. Tomorrow is their day off.
Variety isn’t a luxury for horses. It’s what keeps them happy, curious and willing to work.
All our Andalusian horses are true Pura Raza Española (PRE), with ANCCE papers.
