👋 Farewell, dear pet-parents.

I will be closing this page in the coming weeks, although my website, www.vettranslator.com, will remain active for now. I need to protect my self in these crazy digital times.🔒

Thank you to everyone who entrusted me with your beloved furry ones' nutrition. 🐶🐱 It has been an absolute honor.

🔍 SPOTTING SOFT STOOLS OR ITCHINESS IN YOUR PET? 🎯🐶🐱

I encounter many patients battling food sensitivities, often referred to as "Food Allergies." The first obvious symptoms usually appear between 3 to 5 years of age, but some cases can present as early as 1 year old.

🚨 Symptoms Alert:
Soft stools, vomiting, weight loss, incessant scratching, or those dreaded ear infections are present? It might be more than just a bad day—it could be a food allergy. However, other causes need to be ruled out first.

💪 Tackling Allergies with Nutrition
Through tailored diets incorporating "novel proteins" (unique ingredients your pet has never eaten before), we can try to mitigate these allergic reactions.
It's EXTREMELY IMPORTANT to reserve exotic meats like horse, ostrich, or kangaroo. Therefore ‼️ do NOT feed these types of meats to healthy animals, as we might need them for future dietary interventions.

😊 The Impact of Diet Changes
Seeing allergic patients thrive on adjusted diets is incredibly rewarding. In fact, my passion for clinical nutrition was sparked by a severe case of food allergies in 2017, inspiring me to specialize in this field.

Thanks to that case—HOONAH—I’m here for you and your pets.

🚨 GIVING TOO MUCH 🐟 SALMON OIL TO YOUR PETS? 🐕🐈

Might be time to pump the brakes on fish oil supplements.

Excessive fish oil may lead to 'Hypervitaminosis D,' a condition characterized by the unwanted hardening of organs due to too much Vitamin D, also known as “tissue mineralization.”
Why does this happen? It's all about balance of hormones, and vitamin D is crucial in that dance. 🕺💃

Also, excessive fat intake could lead to chronic conditions like pancreatitis or digestive issues, particularly in animals with sensitive systems.

👇✅
WHAT CAN YOU DO?
If your pet's food already contains fish oil (check labels), I recommend limiting additional fish oil supplements, as Salmon oil or Cod oil, to 2-3 TIMES PER WEEK at most. 📉 In specific cases, more frequent supplementation might be needed.

WHAT DO YOU WISH FOR THIS NEW YEAR 2024? 🎉

Life often throws challenges our way, and sometimes, despite having everything in order, we still need a stroke of luck for things to fall into place.

As we stand on the threshold of 2024, reflecting on the rollercoaster of my past few years—living abroad, battling health issues, and facing the heartache of losing cherished ones, amidst the joy of forging connections with incredible new souls—I find myself recognizing the role luck plays in our lives. ✨

I feel overwhelmed with gratitude for having my precious family by my side ❤️, for the serendipity of being born in this time and place 🌍, and for the privilege of starting my own business providing Veterinary Nutrition Services, what I truly love. 🐾🐕🐈

So, MY WISH FOR ALL OF YOU is precisely this:
May all your efforts, in every facet of life, be rewarded with that spark of luck needed to bring you the goodness you deserve. 🌟

Wishing you all a Lucky New Year 2024. 🍀🥰

🎄🐾 UNWRAPPING NUTRI-PET SAFETY THIS HOLIDAY SEASON! ✨

As promised, here are crucial reminders to keep certain ingredients away from your pets this Christmas:

🚫 🍫 Chocolate Alert!: Theobromine in chocolate is toxic for our pets, leading to symptoms like vomiting, diarrhea, and even seizures, when given in certain amounts.

🚫 🧅 Onion No-Go: All parts of the onion plant are off-limits for pets. Compounds like disulfides and thiosulphates can cause conditions like hemolytic anemia. Therefore, can be life threatening.

🚫 🍇 Grapes Danger: Despite their sweetness, grapes can be extremely toxic, causing clinical signs like increased thirst and even kidney failure.

And what about garlic and honey? 🤔

👍🧄 Garlic Guidelines: Small, processed amounts can be fed. That is why it is included in certain pet supplements, but moderation is key to avoid problems.

👍🍯 Honey Hues: Small amounts of honey are generally safe and can be beneficial in cases of malnutrition, but it's crucial not to make it a long-term treat.

Let's ensure our furry friends have a safe celebration too! ✨🐶🐱

🎄😫 STRESSFUL XMAS for your Pets??? 🐾

🎅 Christmas is just around the corner. Home visits, family gatherings, bustling dinners, and the feared fireworks can create a whirlwind of stress for our beloved dogs and cats. 🐶😺💕

🌿 Considering nutritional supplements to ease their anxiety?
I highly recommend exploring the benefits of V A L E R I A N, and C B D oil products. But timing is key! These products take a bit to kick in, so it's best to start them at least 1-3 weeks before the anticipated stressors (depending on each product and case). They might not perform miracles, but they can certainly help reduce anxiety levels.

🚨 Important:
If your pet is on treatment for epilepsy, anxiety, or suffers liver issues, consult with a veterinarian—whether it's me or your local vet—to ensure the right dosage and to check safety. Also, do not use these products 2 weeks before any surgical procedure, as they may interfere with anaesthesia.

Let's make this Christmas a joyful experience for our furry friends! 🐾🌟 🥳🎄

🥩 TASTY AID for STOMACH INFLAMMATION 🐶
(For subtitles: Open widescreen)

🌿 Slippery elm (Ulmus rubra), is a herb rich in mucilage, a water-soluble fiber that lowers gastric inflammation, slows down intestinal transit time, binds lipids, and improves intestinal microbiome. That is why it could be helpful with: Gastritis (inflammation of the stomach), gastric ulcers, diarrhea, sore throat, or coughing.

In this video you will find a very easy way to give it. Super tasty and stress-free! 👏👏👏

‼️ IMPORTANT NOTE: It reduces the absorption of oral meds. It should be used with caution in cases of hypercalcemia (high calcium in the blood) or calcium oxalate crystals in urine.

⚖️ WEIGHT IS MOOOORE THAN JUST A NUMBER 🐾

Did you know that 50% of our beloved dogs and cats might be carrying some extra pounds? But the Association for Pet Obesity Prevention dropped some eye-opening stats - only 39% of dog-parents and 45% of cat-parents realize their pets are a bit too fluffy. 😅
▫️
🩺 Expert Tip: Balanced BCS (Body Condition Score).
Regular vet check-ups are crucial! Us, veterinarians, use the WSAVA 9-point scale for accurate evaluation - aim for a BCS of 4 to 5 out of 9. 📊 I have included the WSAVA charts for a handy reference.

👉 Maintaining a healthy weight is 🔑 to a happy, vibrant life for your pets! 🐶😺
▫️
🌟 Reduced Health Risks:
A proper diet and healthy weight can help prevent arthritis, diabetes, high blood pressure, breathing issues, back problems, kidney disease, and even certain forms of cancer. 🚑

‼ Important: CONTACTING ME 📲

Because of my professional dedication and busy daily schedule, I'm unable to read ANY Facebook Messenger messages (📵 I do NOT use it at all) My patients are my top priority, so I focus my time on open cases, consultations, and studying. ❤️ 🐾 🏥 📚

Keep in mind that I'm a freelance veterinarian, and I don't have a social media team. 😅

📧 To contact me for the first time, kindly email me at [email protected] or fill in the contact form on my website www.vettranslator.com

I also want to express my deepest gratitude to all the families who have booked my services since I started this project in June 2023, many of whom have expressed their concern for my well-being. You know who you are. Thank you! 💚

Lastly, I must point out that pet care is my passion, but it's also how I support myself. Like all of us, I need to get paid for my job to make a living. 💰🙏 I hope you understand that's why I don't offer free consultations on a regular basis, as you wouldn't go to work if you weren't paid a salary.

Thank you for your understanding! 😊
