Please share ..Having lived here in spain for 21 years with posts like this being shared on social media it has not stopped us seeing dog owners still walking their dogs during the heat of the day ..Firstly their paws have direct contact with floors unlike us who wear shoes..Dogs pads have a direct impact on their health, not only will their pads burn and even though if they dont burn the heat will cause their pads to harden a fact us people know living in spain as our own feet soles, even wearing shoes grow harder ..Hard or burnt pads can not only cause pain , excessive licking but will cause the dog to walk differently causing joint pain..A good oil massaged into pads can help prevent cracking and stop pads becoming hard ( I do a range of oils that of course are organic) Moving on , apart from heat stroke which is life threatening ( if you suspect heat stroke use only tepid water to cool down to prevent shock '', use wet towel on body , wet ears.seek fast emergency vet help) dogs sweat from their ears and panting also helps but once painting becomes excessive then it can have a direct effect on their lungs and heart , dogs body will have, to some degree high stress levels which can have a effect on their frame of mind as they fight to find a cool , safe place to rest .Every year I pray I do not have to write another article concerning this matter but living in a popular beach village with markets ', social areas , I'm shocked at what I have seen this year , too many dogs out during the day in dangerous heat..If you read this and walk your dog during such high levels of heat then you are a selfish person, pls stop..If you have no choice then be prepared, keep to shaded areas to avoid hot floors , take plenty of both room temperature water and colder drinking water , invest in a cool coat , take a blanket , some treats for energy and possible a battery or usb charged fan ..lastly watch out for metal drain covers if they are sun, through the summer they become boiling, so much so you could cook on them and your dogs Paws can burn instantly..Be responsible

Sadly after 30 years of being a groomer with now 2 spine surgeries behind me that have been successful but with the diagnose of degenerative disc disease if I'm to carry on my lifes work as a groomer until I retire ( I'm only 46 ) which is my goal , I will no longer be grooming medium to large dogs , I will miss working with all breeds but lifing heavy weights can herniate my spine discs very easily, if you think this affects your dog please use my WhatsApp message button to message me ..I have therefore lost a % of my client base so have room to take on more clients with smaller breeds of dogs while still offering my regular clients a very personal and qualified service to both owners and dogs ..So please do recommend me for all those smaller breeds..I'm here to stay , I cannot imagine doing anything else and I'm one of the lucky ones that can say I still love my job and offering my clients a truly personal and loving service for their dogs is very important to me .To all my regular clients thank you for all your support these past 6 weeks of rest since my 2nd major spine surgery in 6 months , the worse is over and now any further surgery will be booked with 6 weeks notice and I will from now on contact all my regular clients with surgery dates well in advance to insure you have option of having your dog done before my surgery date ..Its been a tough year but I'm stronger then ever and hope to enjoy grooming for many more years to come as I'm just as passionate now as I was 30 years ago..

I have been a groomer 30 years this year and have loved every day, however I have suffered with crohns and colitis throughout, I have had over 20 surgeries and often have to stay in hospital..now I'm dealing with arthritis in a few forms but degenerative disc disease and osteoarthritis are causing me trouble , luckily I found a good surgeon and had neck surgery Aug 2020 which was successful ( until I had a bad fall and herniated C2 and C1 ) I have now just had major lumbar back surgery..I do all of this in the hope I will be able to carry on grooming so please dont leave me thinking I am no longer grooming, still recommend me
I now no longer do big dogs but all smaller breeds..I understand that is may cause you to use another groomer and for that I'm sorry but grooming is my life and all this surgery is to help me stay mobile enough to work..to all my regulars thank you from bottom of my heart for not only being understanding and coming back but for all your kind messages of support and not to worry you will see me next time. Lots of love for you and from auntie Jo to all your fur kids xx

Meet Daisy , love working with her and her mum keeps her in such good condition I get to style her , how beautiful is this little girl and because she came to me since a puppy she is a pleasure to work with , no issues with toenail clipping, ear cleaning or a**l glands ..Love this little dog
