Does your dog have the annoying habit of barking and getting over excited when the doorbell goes? Here’s a little training tip on how to teach your dog to remain calm when visitors call.

1.Ring (or have someone ring) the doorbell. If your dog remains calm, give them a treat. If your dog reacts, ignore the behaviour until your dog settles – then give them a treat.
2.Repeat this until you have the desired reaction. For example, when the doorbell rings your dog looks at you calmly, expecting a treat.
3.Delay the reward for 3 – 5 seconds to build up the time your dog is expected to be calm.

Here at Paws Doggy Daycare, located in the Estepona, west of Marbella, we offer pawsome facilities for dogs of all shapes and sizes. From doggy daycare with concierge pick up and drop off to boarding, grooming and training. Our Paws Doggy Daycare Centre & Hotel is paradise for owners and dogs alike!

The centre has been built with dogs in mind and boasts a 3,500m fully-fenced orchard, hard surface play area with full-sized swimming pool and additional doggy paddling pools, shaded terrace areas, grooming area and purpose built doggy bedrooms inside the house! There is no kennelling of dogs here! All dogs are free to play, socialise, swim and snooze to their hearts content. The site is 100% safe and secure and dogs are supervised at all times, so you can have total peace of mind that your dog is getting the best care, attention and play they deserve.

Safety is a big priority here at Paws, so we interview all potential Paws pack candidates, to make sure they will socialize well with others before joining us for daycare or overnight stays. This way we ensure that all of our precious pooches are not at any risk from dogs that have behavioural problems or show signs of aggression. The well being of all of the dogs we care for it our utmost priority.

Looking for someone to care for your dog while you are at work? Attending a wedding, event or appointment where dogs are not allowed? Planning a family day at the beach in the heat of Summer? Want to get your dog socialized with others? Our doggy day care in Estepona is the ideal place for your four-legged friend to spend a great day socializing with other dogs, exercising, relaxing, and being cared for in a fun and safe environment. And if you need to be away a bit longer, we offer complete boarding as well! So whether it’s a weekend away or 2 week or month’s holiday abroad you can be certain that your dog is well-taken care of.
