Oasis Maruva Rhodesian Ridgebacks

A new name for the page! Oasis Maruva is the official name of our kennel. Meaning “Oasis Flowers” in Shona. If we are lucky enough to breed some beautiful puppies in the future, this kennel name will be on their pedigree.

As well as a new name, we have some other exciting news: meet our beautiful new addition to the family ❤️. This is Krios Sirius - Canis Maior. We call him Silas. This very friendly, happy and playful fellow has been with us for almost 2 weeks now, and imported from Poland. We fell in love with him from pictures and he is even more amazing than we could have hoped for. He is very social with our other dogs, the cats and our children. The breeder did a great job. We are so happy with him.

¡Un nuevo nombre para la página! Oasis Maruva es el nombre oficial de nuestro criadero. Significa “Flores de Oasis” en Shona. Si tenemos la suerte de criar algunos cachorros hermosos en el futuro, este nombre de criadero estará en su pedigrí.

Además de un nuevo nombre, tenemos otras noticias emocionantes: conozcan a nuestra hermosa nueva incorporación a la familia ❤️. Eso es Krios Sirius - Canis Maior. Lo llamamos Silas. Este compañero muy amable, feliz y juguetón ha estado con nosotros durante casi 2 semanas y fue importado de Polonia. Nos enamoramos de él a partir de las fotos y es incluso más asombroso de lo que podríamos haber esperado. Es muy sociable con nuestros otros perros, los gatos y nuestros hijos. El criador hizo un gran trabajo. Estamos muy contentos con él.

Disappointments are part of life, nature cannot be forced. We have unfortunate news. This weekend we travelled 6 hours to Marbella region to meet up with the male dog. We had high hopes for returning home with a pregnant dog. Unfortunately Nobela Izzy had other plans. She liked the male dog, but put him in the friend zone. She did not allow a mating unfortunately.

This means we returned with a very stubborn, not pregnant dog. And left behind a very disappointed beautiful potential daddy dog…

We have to think about our next steps. This cycle there will be no puppies. Any news will be posted on this page.

Las decepciones son parte de la vida, la naturaleza no se puede forzar. Tenemos malas noticias. Este fin de semana viajamos 6 horas hasta la región de Marbella para encontrarnos con el perro macho. Teníamos muchas esperanzas de volver a casa con una perra preñada. Desafortunadamente, Nobela Izzy tenía otros planes. Le gustaba el perro macho, pero lo puso en la friend zone. Lamentablemente, no permitió un apareamiento.

Esto significa que regresamos con una perra muy terca y no preñada. Y dejamos atrás a un perro hermoso y muy decepcionado...

Tenemos que pensar en nuestros próximos pasos. Este ciclo no habrá cachorros. Cualquier novedad la publicaremos en esta página.

In 2025 it is going to happen! We expect all papers done and are all ready for our first litter 🥰. We still have some room on our waiting list. Are you interested in one of the puppies? They will be socialized, dewormed, vaccinated and chipped. They will come with a FCI pedigree.

Yes! Our kennel name has been approved by the FCI! The puppies will be bred in our kennel Oasis Maruva!

This means "Oasis Flowers" in Shona. Shona is the language spoken in the area of Africa where the Rhodesian Ridgeback finds its origin. We are so happy with this new step in the process of breeding our first litter of puppies.

The name will be on their pedigree. Soon the name of this page will be changed into Oasis Maruva Rhodesian Ridgebacks 🥰

Our beautiful girl is going towards her next heat. Hopefully we will have all the papers ready before she is ready. Because we do not want to have to wait out another cycle. Keep posted to this page to find out if we are in time to start our adventure this fall!

This is Izzy. Typical Izzy. Happy and anticipating to something fun. Of course with sand on her nose, because she likes to stick her nose into everything she can 😃.

She is in heat now... It is sad to let this opportunity go. Because we are so ready for puppies. We have selected a daddy dog (I will post more about this in a later stadium), we have the time and the space. However, we feel that it is best for the puppies and their future owners if the documents are right. This way we have all the information available about the ancestry.

So, the conclusion is that we have to wait for at least one more cycle. We do everything in our power to have the papers ready in October. If everything goes well, we will have to prepare ourselves for Christmas puppies 🥰

Esta es Izzy. Típica Izzy. Feliz y esperando algo divertido. Por supuesto con arena en la nariz, porque le gusta meter la nariz en todo lo que puede 😃.

Ahora está en celo... Es triste dejar pasar esta oportunidad. Porque estamos muy listos para tener cachorros. Hemos seleccionado un perro papá (publicaré más sobre esto en una etapa posterior), tenemos el tiempo y el espacio. Sin embargo, creemos que es mejor para los cachorros y sus futuros dueños si los documentos están en regla. De esta manera tenemos toda la información disponible sobre la ascendencia.

Entonces, la conclusión es que tenemos que esperar al menos un ciclo más. Hacemos todo lo posible para tener los papeles listos en octubre. Si todo va bien, tendremos que prepararnos para los cachorros de Navidad 🥰

This sweet little lady will not be a mother soon, unfortunately. In Spain, the bureaucracy is not our friend. We want to register her pedigree here in Spain and of course register a kennel name. This way we ensure that all the puppies will have pedigree with our own kennel name on it. This takes more time than we expected. However, we will keep you posted!

Lamentablemente, esta dulce señorita no será madre pronto. En España, la burocracia no es nuestra amiga. Queremos registrar su pedigrí aquí en España y, por supuesto, registrar un nombre de criadero. De esta manera, nos aseguramos de que todos los cachorros tengan pedigrí con el nombre de nuestro criadero. Esto lleva más tiempo del que esperábamos. Sin embargo, ¡los mantendremos informados!

The look when she is asking me, 'can we please go out on a walk together?'
- Yes dear, of course!

I always enjoy the walks with Izzy. She is so happy. She sometimes wanders off when she tracks an interesting scent or spots another dog. But never out of eyesight and when I call her, she aborts her mission and immediately returns to me with enthusiasm.
I am glad I can trust her blindly on that 💕

- ¡Sí, cariño, por supuesto!

Siempre disfruto de los paseos con Izzy. Ella es muy feliz. A veces se aleja cuando sigue un olor interesante o ve a otro perro. Pero nunca se pierde de vista y cuando la llamo, abandona su misión y regresa inmediatamente a mí con entusiasmo.
Me alegro de poder confiar ciegamente en ella en eso 💕

Yesterday, we went to Castellón, to meet up with other Rhodesian Ridgebacks and their owners and of course Rhodesian Ridgeback Club España, during an international Dog Show.

Izzy and I went into the ring and she was judged on looks and movement. We are proud to say she scored Excellent on the Jury Report! I already knew she was perfect of course 🥰.

It was quite exciting and tiring for Izzy. She is happy to be back on her own terrain in Elda ❤️

Ayer fuimos a Castellón para reunirnos con otros Rhodesian Ridgebacks y sus dueños y, por supuesto, con el Rhodesian Ridgeback Club España, durante una exposición internacional.

Izzy y yo entramos en el ring y la juzgaron por su aspecto y su movimiento. ¡Estamos orgullosos de decir que obtuvo una puntuación Excelente en el informe del jurado! Por supuesto, ya sabía que era perfecta 🥰.

Fue bastante emocionante y agotador para Izzy. Está feliz de estar de vuelta en su propio terreno en Elda ❤️

Izzy as an adult, she lives in Spain for a year now. We are originally from Holland, where Nobela Izzy was born and spent the first 1,5 years of her life.
