Good morning, good morning, from a very tired Suella and an absolutely exhausted Tash. ❤️
We have a poorly Graham.
Yesterday evening, I received a video call from Tash, who was understandably in a blind panic. My first thought was that Graham had been poisoned, so she immediately called Rita—and fu***ng hell, Rita arrived like Greased Lightning! She dropped everything and raced straight to the rescue. Bless her heart. ❤️
We now believe Graham may have been stung or bitten and suffered a reaction. We cannot find anything obvious on him, so it’s possible he swallowed a wasp or tried catching one, as dogs often do. At this stage, we simply don’t know for certain.
Rita gave him cortisone, antihistamine and another injection, then stayed to monitor him. He eventually calmed down, began walking around and responding, but he still wasn’t completely settled overnight.
Therefore, neither was poor Tash. And neither was I, sitting here waiting for my phone to ring but frightened to message in case everything had finally gone quiet.
I’ve spoken to both Tash who has spoken to Rita this morning. Graham is more settled and has accepted a treat, which is encouraging, but he is still salivating. Because he isn’t eating properly, he cannot take tablets, so Rita will be returning to give him further injections. We’ll then monitor him closely over the next couple of hours and see how he responds.
Please say a prayer and send every positive thought you have to our lovely Graham. Please also spare one for Tash, who is absolutely dead on her feet and stressed beyond belief.
A huge thank you to Tash and the boys for caring for him throughout all of this, and to Rita for dropping everything and getting to him so quickly.
There have been tears from both Tash and me. Sometimes it all becomes too bloody much, and I completely understand how she feels—I’ve been there and lived it.
For now, we’re holding on to the positive signs and praying that our Graham is going to be all right.
Thank you, everyone, from all of us at Big Reds. ❤️🐾
