Feelin' hot, hot, HOT!

Mum was awake feelin' hot n sweaty by moonlight, and it really was! 25c inside, and outside too! Phew its a scorcher 😎. Fans on, windows open all night and no cooler outside than inside. Stoopid weather! So it woz WET COATS ON today for the Podspedition 💦. (And another dry pants night for me.)

Lazy Henry decided on a day off and kept me company while Dad did chores and Mum got dragged up the hill by a Mad Motormouth Monty. It woz so hot they had drinks and a coat wet at the road, and the sun wasn't even out of bed yet ☀️. Phew 🥵. The coats did a great job, speshully for Miss Donna, the big bird with big fur. She's really not designed for hot stuff (though she is kinda hot stuff, which is different 😂).

Me n Henry had a mini walk with Dad in the cool valley bottom (no nasty wet coats needed here) and I even had a bark! Look, a bunny! ARF! 🔊 ARFing is quite tiring for an old lad so I only did it the once, but Dad woz very happy. He misses my silly noises. He doesn't miss Miss Donna's silly noises though - well you can't, she's louder than a loud thing on loud day when it's walk time. Her barking gives everyone ringing earioles 🧏! Oi Donna, some people are resting here!

When we got home Dad tried to tempt me with tasty morsels.

Bit of cheese? Hmmm...... Go on then (chewing pathetically). Oooooh cheese! CHEESE! Nom-nom cheese 🧀! More cheese please!

I ate a big breakfast and I'm stuffed! I think Mum's going to have to break out more chicken supplies. It's not really oven weather but we do have free lectric from Mr Sol, and AirCon. Got to keep the slaves busy 😂

Talking of slaves, Dad's out in the heat sawing wood. I think he's making a new dog door coz the other one went shaped like a banana 🍌.

Mr n Mrs Tit (ROOD! I know but that's what they are, Santos) are bizzier and bizzier with their chicks. In out in out, p**p it all about 😂 They're flying in with beaks FULL of insects, probably loads from round our 'pond'. (It's more of a green swamp than a pond now, but the flies, wasps n stuff love it.) And the chick noise is REALLY LOUD now - "CHEEP, CHEEP FEED ME!" all day. Its almost enuff to disturb ones handsome sleep 😁

I didn't have a very good day yesterday. I felt quite poorly and tired and off my food. So imagine everyone's surprise when I was up and about this morning, in DRY pants!👖Mum had to dash to rip them off me coz I was heading for the garden at a good speed, even on my wonky old legs 😂

I did a perimeter patrol, then came back inside while the Hoomans had drinkies and started rattling collars. I really wanted to go with them today but Dad said "you wouldn't make it, old chap". I spose he's right, but it makes me a bit sad. He n the horrors disappeared at high speed with high noise (DONNA! MONTY!), then Mum put my speshul posh collar on and told me we'd go out once it got light 🥰

I set off at quite a speed so it wasn't a Mum stomp, it woz a Santos stomp! We went all the way to Karen and Trevor's. Well it used to be theirs but it woz rented, and now it's sold. We don't know who bought it yet. I had a lovely sprightly potter, then a big drink, THEN scoffed a big bowl of pate! Chomp chomp! 😋 (Mum says apologies for the background fan noise 😂)

The Horde of Horrors arrived after I'd finished my food, which is good coz they're also hungry horrors.(Not Dad, he's not a horror, he's a nice Dad). They steal my food coz I'm not a fast eater even when I'm well and one of the Hoomans always has to act as lookout 😤.

Everyone's had breakfast 🍳☕🍞 and we're snoozing 😴. I've decided to push Dad out of his chair coz acshully it's MY chair. I'm getting priority boarding on the furniture these days, which is good. I go n point at where I want, then everyone else gets moved to make space! Getting old has some perks after all 😁

Good morning guys.

I'm not feeling very well today. After Friday's ooooopsie disaster, Mum n Dad put me in pants last night. It might have been a good move as they were wet this morning 💦 What they don't know is if I went outside first 🤔 Dad needs to rig up the sneaky 'DogCam' if they want to find out.

Mum woz awake early before the alarm, coz it's HOT out there 🥵 She had to throw the covers off overnight even with the fans going! When she called Walk Time only The Three Podmigos were up an at em - Miss Donna, Fozzie and Monty. Donna has Honorary Pod status coz she's a demon Hunty Runny girl and rabbit wrangler 😁. Monty would DEFINITELY be, but they still darent let him off his lead 🏃💨. (Give it time Monty and be a good boy and I'm sure it'll be ok)

Me, Henry and Pip decided to stay in bed and do a slow stroll with Dad. Well I'm 14, Pip's 13 and Henry's 12 so we're The Pensioner Posse! We've put our million miles in already so we deserve a day off 🏖

I didn't eat anything this morning. Dad put tasty chicken under my nose first 👃 then Mum tried but ❌. Breakfast Fail! 🍳☕🍞 After the other greedy whatnots had theirs it woz time for the first irrigation of the year 🌳! The Hoomans did a big walk round looking at pipes n nozzles and clearing them. Then it woz water on and recheck for rabbit holes. Yes you heard right, those killer Campo rabbits eat pipes to get the water 😡. Then there are big gushing leaks and Dad turns into Super Plumb Man. But not today! It's all worked 😁 and we can hear happy olives slurping 🧏

Mum n Dad will need showers later after being out in the heat and dust coz they stink 🤭. I'm relaxing inside in the cool, under the ceiling fans. We're not stupid. Well Monty is cos only Mad Pods and Englishmen Go Out In The Midday Sun! ☀️

Oh dear, I had an oooopsie yesterday 🙁

Dad came to get us this morning and I woz lying on the dog bed in a pool of wee 😭. They think it woz my wee not anyone else's, but I can't tell them 🙁. Maybe I woke up needing to go and couldn't get up in time, or maybe I did it in my sleep and that woke me up. Anyway I woz very wet, so Dad wrapped me in a towel and carried me out 💦. Mum mopped the bed and the bit on the floor, then it went in the wash. Apparently I'm due for a shampoo and set later (nice) though they say I don't smell much.

Pip decided he fancied a duvet morning so we snoozed while the others were off finding things to chase up the valley, and barking excitedly 🔊. That's mainly Monty, aka Yeoman Yipalot! Mum did her whizzy chores, then when she'd finished me n Pip did our mini-walk and sniffabout. Most of the spring flowers are fading, but the oleeeee-ander bush that a silly man chopped down when he 'trimmed' the rambla has really regrown. It's full of pretty pink ones 🌸. (Mum says that rambla trim woz a typical Spanish quality job 😂)

Mum put breakfast together ready for the Hungry Horde's return and I decided a perimeter patrol woz required. Nothing to report here (boring) coz all the killer Campo rabbits had gone to bed to avoid the sun. I decided to relax on a trampoline, when suddenly a speshul Santos breakfast appeared! A big bowl of more roast chicken! 🔥🍗 (I've got them well trained 😂) Well yesterday I ate roast chicken until I nearly burst - 3 chicken breasts and chicken trimmings. Today I looked like I didn't want it, but Mum left it with me and I scoffed it down again🏆🏆🏆 It seems to be the flavour of the week, at the moment, until it isn't!

Dad's gone to Almeria for some wood to fix the dog door cuz it's gone all bent. He's also going to bring back a carboot full of chicken, which pretty much guarantees I'll go off it tomorrow 😅

It's going to be a hot one again today. Yesterday everyone woz out for a short tea time lead walk in their lovely cool coats 🧥. The one for Miss Donna is a big fat one with a towel lining, coz she's big and fat 😂. Only kidding - it woz made for Mando when they adopted him, coz he was black, and they had nothing to fit him. So Mum used wot she had spare. It makes a great wet coat for a big bird with thick fur.

After ages keeping windows shut during the day cuz it woz too cold, we're now shutting the windows every morning coz it's too hot. Stoopid Spanish weather! 🌞🏖️

Good morning guys!

Well I had a busy day yesterday with my mini walk and Eye-Unstitching at Mr Eduardo's. I woz pretty p**ped on the way back to the car - didn't stop me weeing on every corner though 😂 Then Mum stopped and started talking to someone. It woz the Chicken Van Man! Yesterday woz market day in Sorbas and Mum saw the van on the way up. It woz still there after my eye repair, so Mum bought four roast chickens. FOUR? The nice man laughed when she said 2 for Dad and 2 for me!

When we got back they left the chickens to cool - in the workshop, well away from Norty Noses👃! Then got one out and took all the meat off it, coz Dad wanted a warm chicken sandwich for lunch🍔. They offered it to poorly me first of course - well I launched into the bowl like I'd never seen food before. Practically hoovered it up 😲. I ate HALF A ROAST CHICKEN in one meal🔥🐓. Of course I woz completely stuffed afterwards and fell asleep😴 after my 2 mini walks and a full tummy.

I woz so stuffed I didn't eat anything else and snoozed away while the others did their evening walk in wet coats. Yes the wet coats are back! 💦🧥 and a lead walk coz it's too hot to be running about 🏃💨💨 (Still ok in the morning before Mr Sun gets going ☀️)

This morning Mum woz awake n out early, and back at the farm gate even before the sun peeked over the hill. It was bunny day today - Fozz brought Mum a fresh one, and Donna brought her a dead one covered in ants 😂. Ten out of ten for effort Miss Donna!

Dad brought me on a mini walk to meet everyone and after that I ate a small pack of raw chicken mince AND a whole cooked chicken breast! Roast Chicken is definitely the best thing for a poorly Santos right now 🍗. Sleeping it off...... 💤

What is the difference between a Galgo and a Podenco?
I want to explain it by an example:

A Trip to the Dog Park

We Arrive;
The Galgos are running like crazy.
The Pods welcome every dog, man, tree, blade of grass with endless, constantly changing body language, facial expressions and leg c***s

The First Five Minutes after Arrival;
The galgos are running like crazy.
The Pods dig up seventy small animals, and they create mounds of undefinable mud which sticks to everything it touches.

The Next Ten Minutes;
The Galgos are just standing there, looking around.
The Pods are now carrying out a professional fencing inspection, including a foundation check.

Twenty-Five Minutes after Arrival;
The Galgos are still standing around and gawking
The Pods have now convinced three of the "Non-Sight Hound Breeds" (Golden Retrievers or Aussies with the names, Charley, Luna, Henry, Frieda, Abby etc.) that the best thing you can do in life is digging and looking for mice.

(For this I am despised by the contemptuous gazes of the normal-dog owners, luckily equipped with their treats, dummies, whistles, and other stuff... and deathly afraid that the agility skills of their champions might be lost.)

The Next Ten Minutes;
The Galgos run around a little, and put themselves in poses like models and let themselves be petted.
Meanwhile the Pods have created the basis for a small world class gravel pit, two more rare species of mice have been discovered, and their construction sites have been expanded by three more workers. (Non- Sighthound Breeds, with exasperated owners)

It Begins to Pour Rain;
The Galgos are through with the Dog Park! They stand around looking pitiful with eyes that cry, "take me home, I am a tired, hungry, tortured, neglected Hound."
The Pods are delighted...Mud is much easier to dig than clay.

Driving Home;
Everyone is happy, someone really stinks.

Two Minutes Later;
A Podenco pukes.

At Home;
Towels for the Galgos,
Showers for the Pods.
Disdainful looks from all...

Later (Human is taking a shower);
The Pods are relaxed and sleeping, the Galgos have broken into the Pantry and are eating everything in sight... The Dog Park was so dull, uneventful and boring today... ;-) "

Mum says "The moral of the story is get a podenco, you'll have more fun! "

I'm unstitched! My eye feels funny but Mr Eduardo said it's healing. It should go back to normal in a few days. I'm not ...

I'm unstitched! My eye feels funny but Mr Eduardo said it's healing. It should go back to normal in a few days. I'm not getting re stitched coz it's too risky. Mum's just got to up the eye drops!
