It all started with Emma.
A tiny Rottweiler puppy, born in a backyard in Cairo during winter. She was the only one of her litter to survive the first week. .hassan_bakr advised that if she was to make it, she needed to be taken in and cared for properly — so Ellie brought her home and bottle-fed her.
Emma grew into a beautiful, strong dog and quickly became something very special to us.
Later, in Marsa Alam, she was accidentally poisoned — the target was the local baladi dogs. She didn’t survive, and we lost her far too soon.
With a lot of motivation from , we turned that loss into something meaningful. We started castrating and vaccinating local dogs and cats, doing what we could to improve their lives.
Seven years later, that work is still going — now in Hurghada, with more dogs at home and even more TNR in the community.
Emma was the beginning of it all.
Thank you, Emma.
Forever loved.
