Dahab Cats

Dahab Cats Dahab Cats is a small non profit entirely funded by donations and run by volunteers. All funds go to feed and care for the cats.

Dahab Cats is a small charity entirely funded by donations and run by donations and volunteers. Based in the Egyptian Bedouin town of Dahab on the Gulf of Aqaba we focus on neutering and rehoming the beautiful street cats. We give help and advice to residents and tourists about sick, injured and abandoned cats and kittens and work closely with local vets. We are unable to take more cats into our

sanctuary as we are full, caring for over 60 but we can assist with alternative solutions. Please message us on whatsapp

We have a small cat hotel where we can accommodate cats from people travelling and we have low cost accommodation for travellers who like to cuddle and interact with cats. Please ask for details

We can assist and give advice about travelling cats. The process can be complex and we can help you through the process or complete it on your behalf. We have 6 years experience of preparing cats for travel to many different countries. We often need volunteers and would love to have travelling vets to join us who have expertise in TNR. We have an equipped clinic and would like to be able to neuter more cats as its the best way to have a smaller and healthy population. Donations of money and things to sell are always extremely welcome as caring for over 60 cats, neutering and treating sick cats is very expensive. We would welcome freelance marketeers and fundraisers to help us. We have lots of amazing cats and kittens who need their forever home. If you can give any help or information about prospects please let us know. If you can adopt one of them either disabled or able bodied please contact us, they make amazing pets. You are welcome to visit for cat cuddling or come and stay for longer term volunteering. Please contact us on whatsapp or messenger

Please help us to help these beautiful cats and give them a chance for a better life.

•Attention please•
Kitten season in Dahab is approaching again and everyday there are reports of sick or abandoned kittens!

What YOU can do if You find a kitten:

* Don’t touch or move the kitten! Observe them first and make sure they have been abandoned before you take action.
* Check for a mom over a period of time - they often will leave the nest to get food. If you haven’t seen the mom over a period of 12 hours, then it may be time to take action.
* If a mom appears, leave the kitten with the mom and go back to neuter the mom in a couple of weeks and kittens after a few months.
* If no mom appears and the kitten is in a secure area and big enough to find food on its own, leave the kitten where it is. Around the age of 1 month, kittens will be able to eat on their own.
* If the kitten is too small or sick, take it to the vet and set up a kitten care at your house if possible. If not, contact your local rescue and ask for help or advice but keep in mind that the animal organisations in dahab are not able to take cats indefinitely or adopt them. They have their hands full with neutering and sick animals they already care for.

* Understand that despite your best efforts, if a kitten has been abandoned they are extremely susceptible to infections and hypothermia and they may not survive.

All kittens are precious but sometimes a little one comes along that catches your heart even more, and the devastation when you lose him to a dreadful virus is unbearable. Animal rescue is often so heartbreaking 💔🌸

Sleep sweetly little Bubbles. You were loved so much. ♥️

This is Kozo! 🥺♥️

Kozo is the definition of a laid-back gentleman. He loves lounging outside on the bench or curling up in a soft bed.

He also enjoys sitting on your lap and soaking up all the personal attention he can get. His little black chin makes him stand out and makes him extra cute.

The Suffolk SPCA and other rescue groups were on-site following the Monday fire to help get the remaining cats to safety.

𝐁𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐀𝐬𝐡 𝐰𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞!

Ash came to us as a feral kitten found on the street and grew into this amazing grey model.

Antonia came to Dahab to pick up Ash in our shelter and brought him the 16th of March to his new owner Veronica & home in Germany. The journey went very smooth! 🛫

They’ve made an amazing cat wall for him & he’s settling in really well, very interested in the washing machine 😂

Thank you for giving Ash the chance on a forever home. We wish you guys a beautiful time and friendship together. 🏠 ♥️

𝐁𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐚 𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐭 𝐃𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐛 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐬 🐈❤️

As you know, we care for many rescued cats. Some were abandoned, others were sick or injured. As a volunteer, you help feed them, clean their spaces, and give them love. Seeing a shy cat come for cuddles or a sick cat get better is a wonderful feeling.

Matthew is chilling here with Spot, Liam, Hummus, and Mo, enjoying some quality time. ❤️

Making a difference, one paw at a time.
