🚨 GETTING CATS MEDICAL HELP IN DAHAB 🚨
We are receiving more and more messages from tourists and visitors who find sick, injured, or vulnerable cats needing urgent help 😿
If you are able, the fastest way to help a cat is to take action yourself:
🐾 1. Find the vet. There is a veterinary clinic in Assalah Square (close to the German Bakery) open from 9am - 10pm (you don't need an appointment) or
- call / whatsapp Dr Atef on +201275847220.
- The Ark is currently closed for 2 weeks
🐾 2. Get a secure carrier Ask your hotel, the vet, or us if you can borrow or buy a cat carrier.
- Try not to use a cardboard box. Sick or frightened cats can escape, overheat, or become more stressed.
🐾 3. Safely contain the cat If the cat can be handled safely, place them securely in the carrier.
- If the cat is frightened, injured, or difficult to catch, please message us and if we can help, we will
🐾 4. Transport to the vet Use a taxi, ask hotel staff for help 🚕
🐾 5. Ask for support. If the cat has come from a hotel, restaurant, beach café, camp, or business, please ask if staff or guests can contribute towards treatment costs.
- Even small amounts make a huge difference ❤️
💔 Please understand our reality Dahab Cats already cares for over 100+ cats and kittens across two shelters, alongside daily rescues, medical cases, feeding, and neutering.
We are a small independent rescue run entirely by volunteers and donations. We receive no government funding or charity status funding.
We want to help every cat but we simply do not have: ❌ People to collect cats ❌ Transport available ❌ Space to admit more animals ❌ funds for every emergency
The situation in Dahab is overwhelming, especially during this kitten season.
If you find a cat or kitten needing urgent help, the quickest help is direct action from the person who found them.
Together we can help more cats 🐾❤️
