Brooke Hospital for Animals in Egypt is an animal welfare non-gov.organization founded In 1934, dedicated to improve the lives of working horses, donkeys and mules. The attention of Brooke Hospital for Animals Egypt programme and investment has been focused on providing free veterinary treatment through the static and mobile clinics. More recently, over the past 5 years, additional activities have

been undertaken such as community engagement, working in partnership with community based organizations and other local structures such as rural guides. Staff capacity has been built on the use of welfare assessment methodologies to measure whether animal welfare is improving.

تواصل القافلة البيطرية والتوعوية أعمالها لليوم الثالث على التوالي، حيث توجهت القافلة إلى وحدة بيلا المركزية بمحافظة كفر الشيخ، ضمن فعاليات الحملة المجانية لخدمة المواطنين والمهتمين بالثروة الحيوانية.
وقد شهد اليوم الثالث العديد من الأنشطة البيطرية والتوعوية، التي تم تنفيذها بالتعاون المثمر مع الفريق الطبي لوحدة بيلا المركزية .

The veterinary and awareness campaign continues for the third consecutive day, with the team visiting the Bella Central Unit in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate.
Today's activities included a range of veterinary and awareness services, delivered in collaboration with the dedicated Veterinary team at the Biyala Central Unit.

في اليوم الثاني، توجّهت القافلة البيطرية إلى وحدة شباس الشهداء – مركز دسوق، حيث شهدت الحملة إقبالاً كبيرًا من أصحاب الحيوانات، وهو ما يعكس مدى وعي وتفاعل المجتمع المحلي بأهمية الخدمات البيطرية المقدمة.
إلى جانب تقديم الخدمات البيطرية المجانية، تم تنظيم أنشطة توعوية تناولت أهمية العناية بالحوافر وصيانة السروج، لما لذلك من دور كبير في الحفاظ على صحة وكفاءة الحيوانات.
كما شملت أنشطة القافلة بناء قدرات الأطباء البيطريين ميدانياً، من خلال تدريبهم على استخدام جهاز الموجات فوق الصوتية في تشخيص وعلاج مشاكل الخصوبة وتشخيص الحمل، بالإضافة إلى التعرف على أكثر مشاكل الفصيلة الخيلية شيوعاً، وسبل التشخيص والعلاج والوقاية منها.
Veterinary _Welfare _and _Awareness _Campaign _Shabas Al-Shohada – Desouk Kafr El Sheikh Governorate #

On the second day, the campaign teams visited Shabas Al-Shohada Unit – Desouk District, where the campaign witnessed a large turnout of animal owners, reflecting the local community’s awareness and appreciation of the services provided.

In addition to offering free veterinary services, awareness activities were conducted to highlight the importance of hoof care and saddle maintenance, both of which are essential for ensuring animal health and performance.

The campaign also included on-the-job training for the vet unit veterinarians, focusing on the practical use of the ultrasonography device for diagnosing and treating infertility problems and pregnancy diagnosis. Furthermore, the team explored the most common equine-related health problems, along with methods of diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.

في إطار التعاون المستمر بين جمعية مستشفى بروك الخيري لعلاج الحيوان – بالمجان ومديريات الطب البيطري، أطلقت الجمعية اليوم قافلة طبية بيطرية توعوية مجانية بمحافظة كفر الشيخ، وذلك لخدمة حيوانات الفصيلة الخيلية العاملة .
انطلقت القافلة من وحدة مسير البيطرية، حيث تم تقديم مجموعة متكاملة من الخدمات، شملت: توقيع الكشف البيطري والتشخيص الدقيق و تقديم العلاجات اللازمة بالمجان. ومعالجة مشكلات الحوافر.و تقديم خدمات "السروجي" الوقائية والعلاجية. و توعية أصحاب الحيوانات بأفضل أساليب الرعاية لضمان الصحة والكفاءة. والتدريب الحقلي وتبادل الخبرات مع الأطباء البيطريين المحليين حول أمراض الخيول وأساليب التعامل معها.
وقد أُجريت جميع الأنشطة تحت إشراف نخبة من الأطباء البيطريين المتخصصين من مختلف فروع الجمعية، في بيئة علمية ومهنية تهدف إلى رفع كفاءة الرعاية البيطرية المقدمة لحيوانات العمل.
تتقدم الجمعية بجزيل الشكر لشركائها في مديرية الطب البيطري بكفر الشيخ، وعلى رأسهم د. إيهاب شكري – وكيل الوزارة ومدير عام الطب البيطري بالمحافظة، والسادة مديري الإدارات والوحدات البيطرية، والأطباء المشاركين، وكل من ساهم في دعم وإنجاح هذه المبادرة الإنسانية.

As part of the ongoing collaboration between Brooke Hospital for Animals – Egypt and the Directorates of Veterinary Medicine, the organization launched a free veterinary welfare and awareness campaign today to help working equines in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate.
The mobile clinic began its activities at Bemasir Veterinary Unit, providing a comprehensive range of services including: Clinical examination and diagnosis, Free medical treatment, Hoof care and treatment of related issues, Preventive and therapeutic farriery services, Owner awareness sessions on proper animal care and welfare, Practical field training and experience exchange with local veterinarians on equine diseases and treatment approaches
All activities were carried out under the supervision of a team of expert veterinarians from various branches of the organization, ensuring the highest level of care and professional training.
We extend our sincere thanks to our valued partners at the Directorate of Veterinary Medicine in Kafr El-Sheikh, especially Dr. Ehab Shoukry, Undersecretary and General Director of Veterinary Medicine in the governorate, as well as the dedicated heads of departments, unit managers, veterinarians, and everyone who contributed to the success of this humanitarian initiative.

تم تنظيم قافلة توعوية وعلاجية في مدينة دشنا بمحافظة قنا يوم ١٤ سبتمبر

خلال القافلة:-
•تم توعية وتدريب 16 من أصحاب الحيوانات وأطفالهم على أهمية رعاية الحيوانات العاملة، خاصة العناية اليومية بالحوافر، حيث تم تدريبهم عمليًا على استخدام منكاش الحافر وتم تسليمهم عدد من الأدوات للعناية اليومية بالحوافر

•تم فحص وعلاج 61 من الحيوانات العاملة مجانًا، ضمن جهودنا لتحسين صحة ورفاهية هذه الحيوانات التي يعتمد عليها الكثير من الأهالي في معيشتهم.

Brooke Continues to Support Local Communities and Their Working Animals

An awareness-raising and veterinary welfare campaign took place in Dishna, Qena Governorate, on September 14th, as part of our ongoing efforts to improve the welfare of working animals and the livelihoods of the families who depend on them. The campaign activities included:

Sixty working animal owners and their children received education and hands-on training on the importance of proper animal care, with a focus on daily hoof maintenance. Participants were trained on how to use a hoof pick and were provided with hoof care picks to support regular maintenance.

Sixty-one working animals were examined and treated free of charge for various diseases, ensuring their continued health and ability to work safely and humanely.

At Brooke, we believe that healthy animals mean stronger communities.

شرب_للحيوانات_العاملة_في منطقة_اهرامات_الجيزة #

في إطار الجهود المبذولة لتحسين بيئة العمل ورعاية الحيوانات العاملة بمنطقة هضبة الأهرامات، قامت جمعية مستشفي بروك الخيري لعلاج الحيوان بتصنيع وتركيب أحواض شرب مزودة بمصدر مياه نظيفة، وفقاً للمواصفات الفنية والتصميم المعتمد من إدارة المنطقة الأثرية بالجيزة. وتم توزيع الأحواض في نقاط تمركز الحيوانات العاملة داخل منطقة الزيارة، لضمان توفير مياه نظيفة بشكل مستدام لهذه الحيوانات.

تأتي هذه المبادرة في إطار أنشطة جمعية بروك التي تركز على تقديم الرعاية البيطرية والعلاج المجاني للحيوانات، إلى جانب رفع وعي أصحاب الحيوانات بأهمية الرعاية المستمرة ودورها في الحفاظ على استمرارية صحة الحيوانات.
وتتم جميع هذه الأنشطة بالتعاون والتنسيق الكامل مع مديرية الطب البيطري، ومحافظة الجيزة، وإدارة المنطقة الأثرية، وشرطة السياحة.

وتندرج هذه الجهود ضمن الشراكة الاستراتيجية بين جمعية مستشفى بروك الخيرى وشركة أوراسكوم بيراميدز، والتي تهدف إلى تحسين بيئة العمل داخل المنطقة الأثرية، وتعزيز الصورة الذهنية الإيجابية بشأن مستوى الرعاية المقدمة للحيوانات العاملة فيها.

Troughs_ Installed_ for_ Working_ Animals_ at_ the_ Giza _Pyramids_ Plateau #

As part of ongoing efforts to improve the working environment and ensure the welfare of working animals at the Giza Plateau, the Brooke Hospital for Animals – Egypt has manufactured and installed water troughs connected to a sustainable water source. The troughs were designed and implemented in accordance with the technical specifications approved by the Giza Antiquities Area Management. These water troughs have been strategically placed at key gathering points for working animals within the visitor zone, to ensure consistent access to clean, fresh water, thereby improving the animals’ health and overall working conditions.

This initiative is part of Brooke’s broader mission to provide free veterinary care services for working animals. Raise awareness among animal owners about the importance of Continuous care and its role in maintaining animal health, that support the long-term sustainability of animal welfare and the quality of tourist services provided in the area.

All activities are carried out in close coordination and cooperation with: The Giza veterinary Directorate, Giza Governorate, The Giza Antiquities Area Management and Tourism and Antiquities Police.

This effort also falls within the framework of the strategic partnership between Brooke Hospital for Animals and Orascom Pyramids Entertainment, which aims to enhance animal welfare within the archaeological site and promote a positive public perception of the level of care provided to working animals.

كرّم المهندس شريف فودة، رئيس مجلس إدارة جمعية مستشفى بروك الخيرى لعلاج الحيوان، فريق المتطوعين بالجمعية عقب اجتماع الجمعية العمومية العادية يوم الثلاثاء 9 سبتمبر 2025، تقديرًا لجهودهم المتميزة في دعم رسالة الجمعية ونشر التوعية للتخفيف من معاناة الحيوانات، خاصة في منطقتي أهرامات الجيزة وترسا.

Following the General Assembly Meeting held on Tuesday, 9 September 2025, Eng. Sherif F**a, Chairman of the Board of the Brooke Hospital for Animals - Egypt, honored the organization’s volunteer team in recognition of their outstanding efforts in supporting the organization’s mission and raising community awareness, particularly in the areas around the Giza Pyramids and Tersa.

Those honored included: Ms. Dina Zulfikar, Dr. Dalia El Sharkawy, Mr. Omar Samy, Ms. Roqaya Ahmed, and Ms. Rehab El-Tahan.

The Board expressed its sincere gratitude and appreciation to the volunteers, wishing them continued success and excellence.

فى إطار جهود المستمرة لتحسين حياة الحيوانات العاملة قامت بمبادرة استخدام عاكس بعربات الحنطور لتقليل الحوادث المرورية و التى تشكل نسبة من أخطر إصابات الحيوانات العاملة بالمدن التى تعانى من تكدس مرورى . بدأ تنفيذ المبادرة بمنطقة كورنيش النيل بالقاهرة و سوف تمتد إلى باقى المناطق السياحية مثل الاقصر و ادفو و اسوان

As part of Hospital's ongoing efforts to improve the lives of working animals, it launched an initiative to use night reflectors for horse-drawn carriages to reduce traffic accidents, which constitute a percentage of the most dangerous injuries to working animals in cities suffering from traffic congestion. The initiative began implementation in the Nile Corniche area in Cairo and will extend to the rest of the tourist areas in Egypt, such as Luxor, Edfu and Aswan.

في إطار خطة جمعية مستشفى بروك الخيرى لعلاج الحيوان للوصول إلى المجتمعات الريفية التي تعتمد على الحيوانات في كسب قوتها اليومى، قامت الفرق البيطرية بزيارة ميدانية إلى مدينة الضبعة – محافظة مطروح، يوم 28 اغسطس 2025 حيث تم تنفيذ مجموعة من الأنشطة البيطرية والتوعوية، تضمنت:

الكشف الطبي البيطري على 26 حيوانًا وتقديم 35 علاجًا بيطريًا لمختلف الأمراض كما تم تنظيم 5 جلسات توعوية شارك فيها 25 من الأهالي، بهدف رفع مستوى الوعي حول أهمية الرعاية الجيدة للحيوانات العاملة وتأثير ذلك على جودة حياة أصحابها .

تعكس هذه الزيارة التزام الجمعية بتقديم الدعم للمناطق الريفية وتحسين صحة ورعاية الحيوانات، مما يسهم في تحقيق تنمية مجتمعية مستدامة.

_Activities_ Dabaa_ Matrouh
As part of Brooke Animal Hospital’s for Animals Egypt initiative to reach rural communities that rely on animals for their daily livelihood, veterinary teams conducted a field visit to the city of Dabaa in Matrouh Governorate on August 28, 2025.

During the visit, a series of veterinary and awareness activities were carried out, including clinical examinations of 26 animals and administration of 35 treatments for various ailments. Additionally, 5 awareness sessions were organized and attended by 25 residents, aimed at raising awareness about the importance of proper care for working animals and their impact on the quality of life of their owners.

This visit reflects Brooke’s commitment to supporting rural areas and improving the health and welfare of animals, thereby contributing to sustainable community development.
