Yesterday was truly a fantastic day in the garden 🌱
The energy was vibrant all day ✨

Some garden members cut the grass, while others spread hay around the strawberries to protect them. Home-sprouted tomatoes were lovingly planted into the beds, while endless weeds disappeared from paths and plots. Seedlings from the polytunnel found new homes, and so many hands helped water the beds under the warm sky.

Rhubarb was harvested and shared with each other, and garden members of all ages and species made the day special 🐕💚

There was also a huge focus on the ongoing greenhouse project. We came so far together — cleaning around it, adding rubber sealing, and installing half of the glass. Step by step, it is becoming something beautiful.

Thank you all for such a wonderful garden day. When projects feel too big and endless, doing them together means everything 🌿🫶🏻

This post is dedicated to the dandelions 🌼

They are spreading into millions of flowers, stealing all the energy from our plants, and we are doing our best to keep them under control. Right now, it feels like an endless job 🤪

But the garlic has been weeded — and so have the onions 🥳🌱

Rumour has it that rhubarb is a little more resistant, so for now they’ll have to wait their turn to be rescued 🌱💚

We’re preparing the beds at the moment, and honestly… there’s something so satisfying about cleaning the beds and enjoying the hard work afterwards 🌱💪🏼

Mathilde sowed carrots today, and the next bed is ready for beetroot seeds. Step by step, everything is coming to life again 🥕 🫜

The beds themselves have absolutely exploded with life. So much happening beneath the surface, and we’re deeply grateful for that 🫶🏻

Life in the community garden has its ups and downs. Right now, slugs have started creating hole patterns in our cabbages, and this summer, many of our tomatoes were hit by blight 🥲 We’re constantly learning and sometimes it’s all about luck. This year, for instance, we had a great carrot harvest, and succes with our pumpkins and onions unlike last year.

We keep our spirits high – and try again next year. Hopefully, our cabbages and tomatoes will shine then, and we’ll get to enjoy harvesting them ourselves 🫶🏻

At the moment we’re still enjoying our palm kale, salads, and flowers 🌻

Right now, we’re enjoying a harvest of beautiful, colorful crops and flowers, and it fills us with joy to see our efforts paying off 👩🏼‍🌾🫶🏻

But we’re also doing a lot of weeding—for example, the last picture shows a highly invasive flower that needs to be removed immediately to prevent it from spreading 🌱
