This isn’t directly dog training related, but as Alix & the Pack continues to grow, I’m so excited to also share more of the different things I get to do within the dog industry - especially where behaviour, health and nutrition all overlap.

So… I did something that genuinely scared me today 😅

I gave a talk for .pets at -one of the world’s biggest pet industry trade fairs - all about fresh feeding and nutrition.

And honestly? It was bloody terrifying at first 😂 Standing up in front of a crowd and speaking is so far outside my comfort zone. But once people started asking questions and getting genuinely curious, it turned into such an exciting experience.

I think one of the best feelings is realising that people truly want to learn more and have open conversations about how we feed our dogs and how much that can impact their wellbeing and behaviour.

Very grateful. Very tired. Very proud of myself for doing it anyway.

Now I take the dog nutritionist hat off and go back to sessions and boarding dogs again tomorrow…! 🤓

2026 has already been an incredible year of growth and change for everyone at Alix & the Pack - and we’re not even halfway through!

This morning shared the exciting news that she is starting her own business, Blue Meadow K9. We’re incredibly happy for her and wish her every success as she begins this new journey. 🙌🏼

Alix & the Pack will continue as usual, with bookings available through our booking site as always. We’re looking forward to everything this next chapter brings and to continuing to provide the same care, support and community that our clients and dogs know and love. ❤️

I met him when I was 19. I adopted him at 21 (hated him at first -he had more issues than any dog I’d ever worked with, and I was completely out of my depth 😚).

And now, five years later, he’s seen me at my absolute worst and soared with me at my highest highs. He’s been there through every breakdown, every rebuild, every version of me.

I can’t thank this dog enough. We truly don’t deserve dogs.

Over the last 1,5 years we’ve been lucky enough to learn from one of the world’s top operational dog trainers, Chrisjan Visser.

Chrisjan is a ranger, conservationist, and working dog trainer from South Africa with over a decade of experience ( & ).

His dogs are trained to track endangered animals like pangolins, as well as trail and apprehend illegal poachers — sometimes following 12 hour old tracks over several kilometres, in the dark, and with the very real possibility of a fight at the end.

The stakes are high, and the dogs need to be absolutely reliable. His training is proven, and his dogs are among the best in the world, with dogs deployed all over southern Africa in public and private game reserves.

We are beyond excited to be able to bring Chrisjan to the UK for a workshop next February.

Eeek! Big chapter loading!!!

Spent Monday at the Pala factory and offices getting onboarded and seeing all the behind-the-scenes magic and WOW 🤩. Such a kind, passionate, genuinely joyful team. So grateful to be joining an industry that’s truly out to make a positive impact.

And that’s all I’ll ever use this platform and my career for - making sure dogs’ health and wellbeing always come first!
