I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it: Koya is FAR from the perfect dog.
She gives me grey hairs with stress, she is nervous around strangers and new things, she pushes boundaries, she is very reactive, and she has a very strong opinion on everything.

But all that is also what makes her special!! The moments when it all clicks, where our training and bond unite is so fulfilling and heartwarming 🫶🏼

The last weekend in January is another course weekend for my dog behaviour instructor education.
I’m both excited to learn more but I’m also struggling with stress because there seems to be so many things that are either happening or needs done right at the same time 🫠

But the good news is that Koya and I can finally start to move back home in the next few weeks after the water leak incident 🤩

❄️ 𝚆𝚒𝚗𝚝𝚎𝚛 𝚠𝚘𝚕𝚏 🐺

I’ve found myself getting demotivated and kind of exhausted every time I open up Instagram, which is why I’ve taken a step back from it here in the beginning of the new year.
Losing motivation for the things I enjoy is unfortunately not something new for me (and many others), but I don’t want to lose my passion for photography, sharing and taking part in this lovely community here on Instagram 🫶🏼

And on top of that, I can feel myself getting sick too 🤒

So please bear with me, as I take a little more time to find myself (and hopefully a little more mental energy, too) again 🫶🏼

𝙶𝚘𝚘𝚍𝚋𝚢𝚎 𝟸𝟶𝟸𝟻, 𝚢𝚘𝚞’𝚟𝚎 𝚋𝚎𝚎𝚗 𝚎𝚟𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚏𝚞𝚕 🎇

Some years are about milestones.
This one was about foundation.

A lot happened, and both Koya and I carried more stress than we should have.
So honestly, we’re hoping 2026 will be a year with fewer big things — and a lot less moving, please!!

Well… except for one big thing (hopefully!) happening around October.
If we pass the exams, I’ll officially be a certified dog trainer 🐶🤩

And come to think of it, 2026 will still bring plenty of dog-related adventures.
I’ll be assisting at a puppy class in my club, and helping my instructor with another training group to gain more hands-on teaching experience.

So yeah, maybe this new year won’t be the quiet, calm one I was longing for.
But it’ll be exciting in a much more intentional way.

Let me reword my sentiment from before:

Hello 2026.
I can’t wait for all the new experiences you’ll bring 🤍

I’ll be honest, my energy has been a little low this month, so Instagram has taken a step back. Most of what I’ve had to give has gone into Koya and making sure her needs were met 🐾🤍

Now we’re at my family’s house, slowly easing into Christmas mode ✨🎄

I am a little sad we never got around to do a proper Christmas photoshoot, but I love seeing all your dogs filling my feed with lights and holiday magic 🐕✨🎄

Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas, and if you don’t celebrate, I hope this season still brings you some calm and peace 🫶🏼🤍

On December 4th, 2023, this little girl was born. She is now 2 years old and my best friend, my partner in life, my challenge and my support. In fewer words, I guess I would simply say, she is my reason life makes sense.

I could write paragraph after paragraph about her and how much she has changed me and my life but at the same time… I don’t feel like any words truly encapsulates what I feel.

I love you, Koya. Happy birthday, you little diva princess 💜
