✨Grandchild vs Grandfather✨(Dam's sire)
I see some great resembles! 🥰🍀
As a long time preservation breeder I feel very blessed to have preserved Jeffrey his extraordinary type and DNA within his daughter RS X-Cellentha Atlantis KNN3090 and grandchild RS X-Clusiva Mahdia.
Jeffrey passed on some in Knabstrupper horses extinct bloodlines like the old bloodline of the Knabstrupper stallion Bingo (ex Stanley) who was by Bobby and out of the Knabstrupper mare Tulle who was by Silverking II and out of Knabstrupper Hoppe who was by Plet.
And the bloodlines of the two Knabstrupper brothers Klaus and Prins out of the Knabstrupper mare Musse KNN1167 who was by Asferg Plet out of a Knabstrupper Hoppe (mare)who was by Plet.
Klaus was sold from Denmark to the Netherlands, covered a few mares there and later on was sold to England where he also was used for breeding, his brother Prins also did cover a number of mares at the Netherlands and then later on was sold to Poland.
Many Knabstruppers already in the past went international for breeding!
Also the bloodline of Jeffrey his Knabstrupper sire Taro af Boruplund was not very much established within Knabstrupper breeding.
Taro was by Apollon and out of the Knabstrupper mare Winnie.
Jeffrey his dam's dam Gertrix was by Prins and out of the Knabstrupper mare Tamara who was by Thunder Boy and out of the Knabstrupper mare Tell Me who was by Knabstrupper stallion Terrasso and out of the Knabstrupper mare Mikki ( by Markid and out of a Lipizzan mare).
Tell Me traced directly back to a Lipizzan mare which you can find back in RS X-Cellentha Atlantis KNN3090 her head profile also her great great grandmother Gertrix, which I met on a horse grading at the Netherlands over 20 years ago, had this true Lipizzan expression within her face.
Beside those very much endangered Knabstrupper bloodlines Jeffrey as a big bonus passed on his very rare color genetic, which after color testing occurred to be a silverdapple dilute leopard!
But the most important to me is that he established his wonderful soft and more than gentle character within his offspring..
Horses who have stamina for working but the softness and calmness when standing beside you.
Jeffrey was an extraordinary stallion for breeding, a stallion that I will always carry with me within my heart and a horse which I have a great, you could almost say, magical history with! I found Jeffrey in the middle of the winter of 2006 in fields all covered by snow, he was a turning 2 years old youngster with a half moon upon his face.🌙✨
He was the only leopard in the field, smaller then the other young stallions but he was clearly the leader of the herd, as I was watching him standing at the gate of the land the group of young stallions opened up leaving a circle of young stallions around him and he stepped right out of the centre of the circle, came walking straight towards me and he greeted me as if it was meant to be, he belonged to me! Snowflakes were flying around our heads, I remarked his beautiful half moon at his forehead surrounded by many tiny spots like stars, he was all fluffy with his big long winter coat, really almost too adorable and magical to see😍
A leopard colored horse at that time was very rare to find at the Netherlands...and I instantly fell in love with him💕 he was the horse which I dreamed of as a child, when he suddenly stood in front of me it was a truely magical moment, a feeling I can barely describe a feeling that I will never forget! 🙏🏻
His granddaughter RS X-Clusiva Mahdia also carries this half moon upon her face🌙✨
A small reminder and present of him... The horse of my childhood dreams❤️
Sometimes the man of the stables where he stood back then called me up because they couldn't get him🤣 he liked to play with them and wouldn't let them catch him.. If I came he instantly came to me and I could put his halter on easily, the man could barely believe his eyes when he saw how gentle he was towards me... They soon called me the horse whisperer at that stable because Jeffrey could lay forever sleeping with his head within my lap 🥰💕
Jeffrey moved along with me to Germany in 2008, where I started breeding with him, to preserve his bloodlines and type...
I lost him by unhuman betray in 2020..found him back a few years later living at the very south of Spain...he left a few traces in breeding there (outside of the Knabstrupper registry) was later on gelded and sold to Austria... He has discovered a lot through his life and has stayed fierce through everything, no matter what happened to him..
He survived a very bad colic at the year 2007, when we were still living at the Netherlands, some young kids did feed him too many unripe apples and in the late evening I found him in severe pain sweating and rolling at the ground, the veterinarian came by emergency and after an injection I walked with him the whole night through until I got blisters on my feet, after a while my dad tried to take over because I barely could walk anymore due to the blisters but that was not on Jeffrey his mind and he wanted to give up instantly... He dropped at the ground, gave up on himself and it seemed that he only wanted to fight for me, I talked motivating words to him with tears streaming from my face, I was begging him to not give up because I needed him and that I loved him, he immediately stood up and tried to comfort me by putting his nose in my face.. I looked up thanking God and remarked that there was a halve moon at the sky when I walked with him in the night...🌙
In Germany he once succeeded to unlock his barn door (his daughter X-Cellentha is also good at unlocking doors😅) on a very cold winter evening and he went for a walk alone in the dark... I panicked when the neighbor came to tell me that he saw a leopard horse walking at the end of the street. He walked on a one direction road with a canal between, he crossed the bridge to walk at the right side of the road as if he could read and understand the traffic shields🤣
The neighbor said he came across him with the car👀 I left the fire place on my sandals and did ran outside in search for him..
Then at the end of the street I felt by instinct that he was near, I whispered his name and then out of the darkness he very calmly came walking straight to me with his head hanging low to snuggle up with me, as if he would say hello my dearest friend, don't worry I just took a small walk to enjoy the nice winter weather outside..
It was freezing cold and the night was full by shiny bright stars and again.. I looked up thanked God for bringing him safely back to me and discovered a half moon at the sky🌙
I rubbed the moon upon Jeffrey his forehead and hugged him, told him how much I loved him and that he shocked me, then we walked all the way back home as if we did plan to take this walk together at night✨😅🌙.. People at the street would probably think, hey, there's Pippi Longstocking taking her Knabstrupper horse out for a walk🤣
He made some funny and sweet memories with me🙏🏻❤️
He had a bone fracture in Spain I heard, I was told a young stallion came to his paddock and did fight with him...
As another miracle he recovered entirely from it, which shows his strong 'war' horse genetics and amazingly tough character!
He was a stallion who did really stamp his character to his offsprings as well as his type and through X-Cellentha he also passed on his exquisite color genetics, which X-Cellentha passed also on to her first daughter RS X-Clusiva Mahdia❤️
The last news that I've heard about Jeffrey is that he is now enjoying his old days as a gelding living on a castle with a countess in Austria. 👑🏰
Which seems to be a very nice coincidence because we did also sell the sire to Jeffrey his granddaughter Mahdia, Magic Dragon to a countess from Germany who is also living on a castle.👑🏰
What is funny in this case is that the countess from Germany comes by origin from England, and I did import Magic Dragon from England at the summer of 2020, he was born there like his current owner😅
I could write a sweet romantic novel and drama about my Knabstrupper horses.. About the silver half moons, the silver genetics, starry nightwalks with a horse with a coat full by stars... The big betray and finding him back after all...
My horses are undoubtedly my blessings send by God our and their creator!
🙏🏻❤️
Royal horses they once were and to me they always will be!
If you once got infected by the Knabstrupper fever there seems to be no cure for it, it is hard to imagine to ever stop breeding and give up on preserving this extraordinary endangered breed of horses!
We as breeders, to my opinion, need to carry on their magnificent legacy so our ancestors can enjoy these beautiful and unique horses with their great history someday!
They survived for us... So we owe it to them to safe them from extinction!
