Neignorujme ji.

Pet Anxiety Awareness Week: Fear, anxiety and stress in dogs and cats are more common than we think.
A dog that growls, avoids being touched or struggles to relax is not necessarily “badly behaved”. A cat that hides or grooms excessively may also be signalling that something is wrong.
Fear, anxiety and stress can manifest in many different ways, often through subtle, non-specific signs that vary from one animal to another.
📊 The FAS (Fear, Anxiety and Stress) scale helps us recognise an animal’s signals and understand their emotional state. However, body language must always be interpreted in the context of the situation. If you are unsure, seek professional advice.
Changes in behaviour may also be linked to pain or illness.
📊 According to our internal data, during the diagnostic assessment of 88% of our canine patients presenting with behavioural problems, we identified a medical condition or a finding that prompted further investigation and led to the diagnosis of a disease potentially affecting behaviour. These included neurological, neoplastic, orthopaedic and dermatological conditions.
At HANIMA, we therefore consider behaviour in the context of each animal’s health, living conditions, emotions and individual needs. Where appropriate, we carry out further diagnostic investigations and combine medical care with behavioural therapy.
Our aim is not simply to change behaviour, but to understand its underlying causes, the factors that make it worse and how we can help the animal feel safer.
Chronic stress can place a strain on the body and negatively affect overall health. Anxiety is therefore more than a behavioural issue: it is a condition that requires professional attention and investigation into its underlying causes.
Seeking help early is an important part of caring for an animal’s health and welfare.
💚 A change in behaviour tells us something. Let’s not ignore it.
