Last weekend, we took part in an OWS show in Germany. Unfortunately, our original team of chinchillas couldn't participate due to issues with their sand bath — it caused them itching and led them to chew on their own fur. :( (Now everyone are fine! 😊) We brought substitutes instead, and they pleasantly surprised me with their results! For instance, Lady, in the "Angora Light 8+" category, scored 42/50 points. Little Wendy, competing in the "White – Baby 4–5 months" category, was awarded a "2rd class" rating just like her father was at that same age. I’m hoping that, she’ll bring home a trophy for us in the 8+ category a next year like her father did. 😊
For us, the show was a fantastic opportunity to meet wonderful breeders and bring in new bloodlines for our own stock. The competition was quite different from what we see in the Czech Republic or Poland, and the judging seemed stricter, which makes the excellent results we achieved all the more rewarding.

ČESKY NÍŽE
Many people are unaware of the interesting sleeping positions chinchillas adopt. Sometimes they lie on their sides or with their legs in the air as if dead, while at other times they lounge comfortably, stretched out on a shelf.
