how wonderful ❤️❤️❤️

While running errands over the weekend, I brought my German Shepherd, Kira, along for lunch. As we were leaving the restaurant, she suddenly stopped in front of a couple and locked eyes with the woman—calm, gentle, still.

The woman reached out and stroked her head, eyes filling with tears. “We just lost our dog two weeks ago,” she said softly.

What followed was an emotional conversation—about loss, love, and how quiet a house can become. The man shared he’d always wanted a German Shepherd but never told his wife, assuming she wouldn’t be interested.

She turned to him and said, “If you want one, we’ll adopt one.”

His voice cracked. “Really?”

I handed them Kira’s rescue card. They were stunned—Kira was a rescue, and now, her quiet kindness might lead another dog to a forever home.

In a few weeks, I’ll be helping them adopt a German Shepherd of their own.

Kira knew.
She always knows.

Rua, all the dogs from this mornings hike up the mountain are exhausted. Sleep time now until it starts cooling down again, around 18:30.

Rua is a star. You can tell he’s more comfortable out on the campo now because he follows his own path, rather than shadowing Vexy. All good until Vecy comes back and, Rua doesn’t, well not immediately. This morning, Rua returned to spot he saw me last. Grateful I had a tracker on him.

Today, one our fave guests Rua is back. Staying until Wednesday. As we head toward the GR7 trail this morning, Pastel, Tiri and Cindy decided to join our morning hike!

One double sided leash with 5 dogs meant going wild campo goat tracks this morning.

Two gorgeous new doggies running around Acequias village today.

Smell and feel like they’ve just returned from the pet groomer. Very clean. No collars. Very friendly.

they’re definitely that tiny space creatures. The m Spanish version, common around here, don’t particularly like being inside the house. They’re guardians of livestock and take their jobs very seriously. Usually friendly enough if you don’t threaten what they’re protecting.

Who ever said mastiffs take up a lot of room?…….

Naughty Gracie, takes off every morning now on her own HUGE adventure and of course, teaching my boy bad habits! He doesn’t usually take off.

She’s deep down in Barranca de Pleito this morning! I cannot even access this area to retrieve her so, I’ll have to wait until she comes home. She always comes home!

No more off leash for Gracie. She leaves for her home in Ireland on Monday!

Our beloved Cesar was picked up by his mummy this morning!

Back to two dogs, mine Vexy and Gracie, the recent dog rescued dehydrated on the side of road. She leaves for Ireland on June 23! That’s where her new mummy lives.

It’s so hot now that walking times are severely restricted. Luckily for us, there is water all year round here so the doggies can all have a swim and cool down.

Escaped from: Acequias

Long story short, my dog Vexy (medium size tan & black male, neutered & microchipped) escaped without his orange harness on with Gracie (xl female Caucasian Sheperd mix) rescued a couple of weeks ago, she’s booked for microchip on June 2. She’s already adopted. Please call or message me their location, if you seen them
