I’ve been so consumed with my new passion, Morayma Candles that I haven’t had time to post about my daily doggy adventures.

We’re still out there, every morning.

But, if I’m honest, it’s a struggle now with my left foot. I take 3 x as long and my hobble has gotten much worse. Hopefully, surgery isn’t too far away now but, not before my sisters here.

Vexy got some new winter gear, a very special treat so he’s comfortable while we’re out there during the cooler months. 10 degrees here can sometimes feel like -2!

Pastel (cake in Spanish) is probably a Kangal (Turkish lifestock guardian) cross Spanish Mastiff. Also a lifestock guardian dog. He’s pretty big by most people’s standards, I’d guess he weighs about 55kg. He’s also extremely gentle, very patient and loves a cuddle on the lounge.

Until Wednesday, I am looking after Pastel, Tiri (cliff diving horn bag), Cindy, 2 horses, 2 ponies and it’s either 7 or 8 cats. In between, I’ll be busy candle making.

Real estate on the lounge is slim pickings over the next few days 😉

Here in the villages, many let their dogs roam the streets!

Generally, these days, there’s between 3 and 5 dogs at mine … every day! Without a car, I’m usually home, most of the time anyway.

They’ve all been kicked outside today so I can clean my house. My gate is left open, they can leave whenever they like but, they don’t leave.

This is “home away from home” for Tiri, Pastel and Cindy (not here atm). These guys live on my friends farm in the Acequias campo. I love all 3 of them. I miss them on the rare day they don’t come. Tiri has bad separation anxiety, can’t be without a human.

Joy, a male, the other little dog lying on the mat with Vexy is a new addition to the village and, also out roaming the streets all day & night.

I love my boy! He enjoys looking out to the street, watching passers by. He knows the locals from tourists or strangers.

there is nothing more loyal than a dog, ever!

In 2015, Pablos Cicalese, the owner of the dog Talero, disappeared during a snowstorm in the rugged mountains of southern Argentina. He had been out hiking with Talero and never returned. Authorities searched for days, but without success. It wasn't until about 23 days later that they found Talero – alive – at his frozen owner's side.

Despite the icy cold, hunger, and danger, Talero never left his side for a moment. He tried to protect him by clinging to him and keeping watch. This loyalty moved the entire country and was celebrated in the Latin American media as a symbol of loyalty and the deep bond between humans and dogs.

Taleros's story is often compared to that of Hachiko in Japan – the legendary dog ​​who waited for years for his deceased owner.

Vexy, Ruah, Pastel, Tiri, and Cindy … out for an evening walk, a couple of nights ago.

I’m a firm believer dogs ❤️ routine and deserve “some” routine in their lives. Specially, they ❤️ the long sunrise campo walks and shorter sunset walks, make them and me, so very happy.

i couldn’t have imagined in my twenties or even thirties that I could ever have loved a life this simple but, I do ❤️ it.

Dogs, nature and a few good eggs! ❤️🥰😍

Pastel has been with us for a few days now and Joy, the little dog, who also lives in the village, has also started visiting regularly. First time Joy is following us on our morning hike and despite his tiny stature, is more than keeping up!

Precisely this makes me happy.

Tiri and Vexy came out on the campo for a hike this morning.

On our return, Pastel and Cindy were waiting at the gate.

3/4 dogs are not mine. Tiri, lives here most of the time, Pastel and Cindy live on a finca, just outside the village. Me thinks Danny, who owns all 3, needs to build a den under his many almond and olive trees to keep the dogs safe.

I cannot afford the 4 servings at meal times but, how you can I not? They’re behaving like they’re hungry, doesn’t necessarily mean they are.

They’ve all been out on the campo, had breakfast, playtime now and then sleep until 18:00 tonight.

Animals don’t much care for the hottest period of the year either.
