FLORA ❤️

In January last year, Flora was found on the street with her mum and 10 siblings and has sadly been growing up in the shelter 💔

Flora is special - she has a very gentle soul, is incredibly friendly and just loves any amount of affection she can get 🥰

She is curious like any other dog her age, and would be the perfect addition to any home. We are looking for understanding and loving people for Flora. She needs a family of her own who will teach her everything she needs to know and give her lots of love for the rest of her life❣️

Flora loves getting taken out of her pen for a stroll with her sister Fawn and walks well on a lead. She deserves to know life outside of the shelter and have people to explore the world with 🐾

ELVIS 🩵

Elvis came into our care 2 years ago, in February 2023. He was very sick and put up an incredible fight to survive - he is an incredibly strong dog who we are very proud of ❤️

Elvis is full of life and extremely clever, and so struggles with life in the shelter. We help him by taking him out as much as we can - Elvis is great on the lead and loves stretching his legs outside of pen, he loves to sniff and take in the world around him on walks ☀️

Elvis is also very friendly and affectionate - he loves both humans and dogs. He gets let out to play with his pal Jacko everyday ☺️

He is a quick learner and would be very trainable. Elvis deserves to know what a good life is like. He would love nothing more than people to call his own who he can explore the world with 🐶

The PAWS CLICKER TRAINING PROGRAMME
How amazing will it be when every one of our dogs can show true calmness every time they enter our recreation area? Wouldn’t that change your mind about adopting when the dog you fall in love with is:
CALM … RELAXED … & ATTENTIVE?
That’s what the Clicker Training programme focuses on.
Want to be on the inside from the very beginning? Then simply join PAWS as a volunteer & get free access to the training sessions. Learn with the shelter dogs and then train your own dog.
Leading our programme are Ross & Bev. They have a lifetime of dog experience with, currently, seven of their own rescue dogs.
Their training approach is founded on the pure science of learning theory, made simple by practical use of a clicker. It’s simple, kind, effective & most importantly, exclusively positive reinforcement based.
Our dogs & our volunteers love it.

Volunteers get free access to all the training sessions & our dogs get the benefit too.
To sign up as a volunteer simply:
- pop down to the shelter any morning and speak to Susi or Matthew
- come to one of our events and meet with existing volunteers; they will tell you how rewarding volunteering at PAWS is

The more volunteers we have, the more time we have to spend with the dogs.

OLIVIA 🩷

Olivia has been with us at Paws for a year and a half now. She was found on the street as a stray before she came to us 💔

Olivia is a gorgeous girl, just look at those ears 😍 Whilst she is shy, she has progressed a lot from when she first arrived at the shelter, but will need someone special to teach her to not be scared. Olivia needs to learn that she is deserving of love and will require some patience to allow her personality to shine ✨

Although she is shy with humans, the same can’t be said for dogs. Olivia has a group of friends at the shelter who she gets in well with, and is let out to play with them every day. She is extremely friendly towards them and we think she would do great in a home with another dog 🥰

She walks on a lead, and even though she is scared, she has never become aggressive towards us. She really deserves a chance after everything she has been through ❤️

Olivia deserves to know what a good life is like. She would love nothing more than people to call her own who he can explore the world with 🐶

AIDEN 💚

In August last year, Aiden was found in the access lane of the shelter along with another puppy and is sadly still growing up in the shelter 💔

Aiden is special - he has a very gentle soul, is incredibly friendly and just loves any amount of affection he can get 🥰

He is curious like any other dog his age, and would be the perfect addition to any home. We are looking for understanding and loving people for Aiden. He needs a family of his own who will teach him everything he needs to know and give them lots of love for the rest of his life❣️

PIXIE ✨🩷

Size: Small (tiny !)

This gentle girl has been with us for 5 months already. Meet Pixie, who was found in the shelter access lane absolutely terrified. It was her lucky day though as she is now getting the care and attention that she had so badly needed for a long time ❤️‍🩹

She has tested positive for Leishmania and is receiving the necessary treatment and skin is recovering well and her and hair is growing back; while the open sores on her paws have healed, leishmania has taken its toll on her poor ears, which are ragged and torn 😔

She soon showed what a lovable dog she is. She is happiest with company who absolutely loves giving and receiving affection. She would cuddle and sit on someone's lap all day if she could (evidence in the photos !) ❤️

She enjoys the company of other dogs and has quickly learned to walk on a leash and enjoys her little trips out. She has also been tested with cats and was very well behaved 🥰

The cold shelter in winter is no place for a little princess like Pixie. She is the sweetest soul who just needs some love and a small space on someone’s sofa where she can snuggle up ❣️

PETRAS 🩵

Petras was rescued from the street, probably because he was unfit for hunting due to his fear. Petras still doesn't really trust us. While we've made some progress, we simply don't have enough time to properly work with him and invest more time in him 😔

Petras is a fearful dog. He is trapped in his world and every attempt to get him out of it is pure stress for him. If you walk past his kennel, he barks at you, but if you just go in, he retreats to the farthest corner and just hopes we don't come near 💔

He walks hesitantly on the leash, but is making progress... even though he is scared, he has never become aggressive towards us. Dogs like Petras also deserve a chance, but for such dogs it is even more important to find the right people ☺️

Petras deserves to know what a good life is like. He would love nothing more than people to call his own who he can explore the world with 🐶
