UPDATE: 05:00 FOUND AND BACK HOME

UPDATE: 19:19 SOMEONE SAW HER RUNNING ON THE MAIN ROAD AN HOUR AGO BY THE COFFEE SHOP THATS NEAR THE PIKNI FOREST

🚨 URGENT – SUNNY IS LOST AGAIN! 🚨

Sunny went missing again around 3 hours ago, and we have only just been informed. She was lost in Pikni Forest, Pegeia, an area full of poison. I had no idea until now, and I am driving from far away to get there. 💔

I honestly fear the worst for her. It is getting dark, she is black, and she is near a main road. The odds are against her, and I am terrified that we may already be too late.

Apparently, she still has a lead attached to her. Sunny is extremely scared of people, including me. Please understand that she will NOT come to you, even if you try to help. Please do not chase her or frighten her further.

🙏 If anyone is nearby and can go to Pigna Forest in Pegeia to help search for her, please contact me immediately. Every minute matters.

🚨 ΕΠΕΙΓΟΝ – Η SUNNY ΧΑΘΗΚΕ ΞΑΝΑ! 🚨

Η Sunny χάθηκε ξανά πριν από περίπου 3 ώρες και μόλις τώρα ενημερωθήκαμε. Χάθηκε στο Δάσος της Πίκνης στην Πέγεια, μια περιοχή γεμάτη φόλες. Δεν είχα ιδέα μέχρι τώρα και ξεκινώ από μακριά για να πάω εκεί. 💔

Ειλικρινά, φοβάμαι το χειρότερο. Έχει ήδη αρχίσει να σκοτεινιάζει, είναι μαύρη και βρίσκεται κοντά σε κεντρικό δρόμο. Οι πιθανότητες δεν είναι με το μέρος της και τρέμω στην ιδέα ότι ίσως να είναι ήδη πολύ αργά.

Από ό,τι μας είπαν, έχει ακόμη το λουρί της πάνω της. Η Sunny φοβάται πάρα πολύ τους ανθρώπους, ακόμη και εμένα. Σας παρακαλώ, καταλάβετε ότι δεν θα έρθει κοντά σας, όσο κι αν προσπαθήσετε να τη βοηθήσετε. Μην την κυνηγήσετε και μην την τρομάξετε περισσότερο.

💔 ONE YEAR LATER AND ORION IS STILL WAITING FOR HIS FOREVER HOME. 🐾

One year ago, Orion was found sitting alone in Tremithousa Industrial Area, exposed to traffic and danger. I couldn’t leave him there, so I took him to safety and hoped that one day his story would have a happy ending. ❤️

Today, Orion is still waiting for someone to choose him. 💔

🐕 Male German Shepherd, approximately 5 years old
🐶 Friendly with other dogs
❤️ Smart, trainable and well-behaved
🏡 Looking for a loving, stable home

Orion deserves a family of his own. ❤️ We are looking for someone who will welcome him as a true member of the family, give him companionship and include him in everyday life.

He won’t be rehomed as a guard dog, to live tied up outside or confined to a cage. We want his next home to be a place where he is genuinely loved and cared for.

🏡 Adoption in Cyprus and abroad is possible, subject to our adoption process and home check. A suitable long-term foster home would also make a huge difference.

Poor Sunny just can’t catch a break. 💔 She’s not a puppy, she’s not small, she’s black and she has leishmania. It feels like the odds are against her and all she wants is someone to love her.

Sunny is an absolutely amazing dog. She might be a little timid at first but with patience and love, she’ll show you just how special she is. ❤️ She didn’t choose her age, her colour or her leishmania and none of these things make her any less deserving of a family.

Please look past the labels and give this girl a chance. She won’t love you any less than any other dog. She just needs someone to finally choose HER. 🥹❤️

🐾 Meet Simba ❤️ A little boy who deserved a chance.

Last Monday, I found Simba with a cat colony in Kissonerga. He was sitting in the sun, looking far from lively. His eyes were shut and infected, he was weak and he was covered in fleas and full of worms.

We took him to the vet and since then, he has been dewormed, treated for his eyes, given vitamin paste and proper food and kept somewhere safe where he could finally rest and recover.

The reason Simba has stayed with me is that the vet explained he needed proper monitoring and ongoing care, not just a one-off visit to the vet. I wanted to make sure we finished what we started and honestly, I think we caught him just in time. ❤️

Simba is doing better now but there is one thing I can’t give him forever: a proper home.

For now, he stays in a crate because that’s the only safe place I have for him. But as safe as it may be, a crate is not a life and this friendly little boy deserves so much more than that.

In the next few days, Simba will be vaccinated and we are now looking for someone who can offer him a safe place to grow, feel loved and just be a kitten.

🏡 MALLOW IS LOOKING FOR HER FOREVER HOME! 🍡

Two weeks ago, we posted about this tiny girl looking for a safe place to stay. She was found as a stray puppy and thankfully, she’s now safe in foster care. ❤️

We named her Mallow, short for Marshmallow because she’s just as sweet as her name! Although, she also answers to Dobby because that’s what we sometimes call her too 😂🤍

Now it’s time to find her forever family and we’re officially taking applications for this little girl!

🐾 Around 3 months old
🐾 A tiny pup who will remain small when fully grown
🐾 Possibly a Chihuahua cross with Pinscher
🐾 Very smart and already crate trained for a couple of hours during the day
🐾 Excellent with people, other dogs, cats and even rabbits!
🐾 Currently sleeping on the bed at night and sleeping right through until morning 🥹

Mallow is a clever little girl with so much love to give. She’s still a puppy, so she’ll need the usual patience, training and guidance as she grows but she’s already showing us what a lovely little companion she can be.

One thing worth mentioning: Mallow currently sleeps on the bed at night and is happy sleeping through the night with her foster family. If you’re specifically looking for a puppy who will sleep in a crate at night, she might not be the right match for you. ❤️

📍 Mallow is currently in foster care in Paphos, Cyprus. If you’re local and would like to meet her, we can arrange a visit with her foster family.

🇬🇧 She can also be adopted in the UK and travel once she’s old enough and ready to do so.

🐴🥕 A LITTLE VISIT TO PAPHIAKOS ❤️

A few days ago, me and Indy went to Paphiakos to do something we genuinely enjoy spend some time with the donkeys and horses, feed them some carrots and just enjoy being around them. 🥹🐴

We may have slightly overdone it with the carrots though… 😂 We basically emptied the supermarket shelf! 🥕🥕🥕

But obviously, there was no way we were going to Paphiakos and only taking something for the animals we were going to feed. So we also loaded up with dog and cat food to leave for the shelter. 🐶🐱❤️

We have actually done this before but we never posted about it. We didn’t feel the need to tell everyone every time we bought food for a shelter.

This time, however, we decided to post about it and it is NOT because we want thank yous, praise or recognition. We don’t need anyone thanking us for buying some food. We did it because we wanted to and we’ll continue doing it whether anyone knows about it or not.

The only reason we’re sharing it now is because maybe it will inspire someone else to do the same.

It doesn’t have to be Paphiakos. It doesn’t even have to be a big donation.

Once a month, once every few months or even just once in your lifetime, go to a shelter you choose, buy whatever you can afford and leave it there. A bag of food, tins, treats, litter whatever you can manage.

For us, we chose Paphiakos because, animal politics aside, they have a huge volume of animals and in my opinion, struggle with that volume more than any other shelter in Paphos.

And yes, I have my opinions about Paphiakos. I disagree with the management on certain things. There are things that have happened there over the years that I have heard, seen or personally experienced that I don’t agree with.

But the animals are still there.

And they still need to eat.

That’s what should be stuck in everyone’s head.

You might not want to give money to an organisation for your own reasons. Fair enough. But surely you can still buy dog or cat food. That food is going into bowls. It isn’t going into anyone’s pocket. It’s going to animals who couldn’t care less about the politics surrounding them.

And while we’re talking about this, I honestly find it hard to understand how some shelters can have the luxury of big managerial salaries or believe it or not, throwing tons of donated food into skips because it has gone out of date, while there are shelters struggling to keep enough food for the animals they have.

If you have so much donated food that you can afford to throw tons of it away, then in my opinion, you’re okay. There are other shelters and other animals that could have used every single one of those bags.

I could say a lot of good things about Paphiakos. I could also say a lot of bad things. I’ve heard, seen and experienced enough over the years to have my own opinions.

But I will never throw away or pretend that the years of work they have given to animals don’t matter just because I disagree with certain things.

The animals didn’t choose the management. They didn’t choose the politics. They didn’t choose the shelter they’re in.

They just need a full bowl.

So if you don’t want to donate money, don’t.

Buy food.

If you don’t want to support one shelter, support another.

If you don’t have much, buy one bag.

If you can afford more, buy more.

Just do something.

Because at the end of the day, whether it’s a dog, a cat, a horse, a donkey or any other animal sitting in a shelter waiting for someone to care they still need to eat. ❤️🐾

🚨 WE’VE BEEN HOLDING A LITTLE SECRET 🤫

Apparently, money really does make the world go round. 🙃 After months of this poor dog wandering around Tremithousa, terrified and extremely thin, we offered a €100 reward for anyone who could safely secure him.

Suddenly, we started receiving LOTS of messages and calls from people spotting him in different areas. Funny how that works, isn’t it? 🤦‍♀️ For months nobody was interested in helping him but once there was €100 involved, suddenly there was plenty of interest.

Then last week, we received a call from Niki, a Cypriot lady who lives in the village, saying she had him in her garden. After confirming it was the same dog, we went and got him safely into a safe environment. ❤️

And here’s the part that honestly leaves us speechless: I didn’t have any cash to pay the €100 reward, so Niki gave me her bank details and I transferred it to her.

Yes…we actually had to PAY to rescue a stray dog who had been wandering around the village for months. 🤦‍♀️

But if €100 was what it took to finally get him safe, then so be it. ❤️

We call him Bruno. 🐶 He is still extremely timid and needs time to gain confidence, trust people, learn to walk on a lead and become less skittish.

The amazing news is that a potential family in the village is already interested in adopting him. 🥹 Once Bruno is fully vet checked and everything he needs has been taken care of and once we feel he is ready, he will hopefully be able to go to his forever home. 🏡❤️

From a terrified, skinny stray wandering the streets of Tremithousa ➡️ to safety, a name, a chance and hopefully soon a forever home. 🐾❤️

Maybe money really does make the world go round. 🙃 But for Bruno, it was €100 well spent. ❤️
