This golden stater was minted near the end of the reign of Alexander the Great, more specifically between 330 and 320 BC. It shows the helmeted head of Athena adorned by a serpent looking right on the obverse and a Nike standing left, holding wreath and stylis surrounded by the inscription ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ AΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ on the reverse.
