On behalf of all the wonderful people who help animal and the animal charities here in the TRNC ( also applies to everywhere else).
When it comes to animals in need,
too many people are quick to pass the problem on to someone else.
Those of us who rescue and help animals are swamped. We are crippled by vet bills and rising food cost. We have had enough of other people not doing their bit.
"I've found a sick kitten, please help", "I've found a dog". How about take it to a vet. Put your hand in your pocket. Get in your car, get on a dolmus. Feed it, give it water, give it shelter. Get it neutered. Show some compassion and stop expecting others to do it for you. Keep some dry food, water and take away containers in your car and feed some strays. Donate to the animal charities, go to a fundaising event, volunteer, foster or Adopt. How about having a clearout and donating your unwanted goods to one of the charities. I understand that some poeole are not in a positon to help, but a lot of people are and do nothing.
Stop saying "I wish we could help". You can. Every little helps.
Ask yourself the question " what can i do to make an amimals life better?"
If someone asks for help, ask yourself "what can I do".
Coming on holiday? Ask yourself "can I spare a little room in my suitcase for something that will help an animal in need?"
If you rehome an animal, please don't give to a student. What will they do with it after they leave?
If you move, take your pets with you. If you absolutely can't take your pet, don't leave it to the last minute to try to rehome it. You adopted it. A pet is not a toy you can throw away when it's no longer convenient to keep it.
We all live here, if we all did our bit then maybe we could make a difference.
