Short-nosed breeds like Bulldogs, Pugs, and French Bulldogs often suffer from brachycephalic airway syndrome, a serious condition that makes breathing difficult.
If your pet snores loudly, coughs frequently, or has fainting episodes, it’s time for a veterinary assessment. Proper management can improve their quality of life and prevent complications. 🫁

Cushing’s disease is a common endocrine disorder in dogs, often mistaken for normal aging. Symptoms like excessive hunger, thirst, frequent urination, and a pot-bellied appearance are signs that shouldn’t be ignored.
If your dog shows any of these, schedule a vet check-up. Early diagnosis can improve your furry friend’s quality of life dramatically. 🐕⚠️

🩺 Case of the Week: Maya
Meet Maya, a brave 15-year-old mixed-breed dog who came to us with difficulty defecating and urinating. Imaging revealed a mesorectal mass compressing her re**um and urethra.
🔪 Surgery Highlights
Using a dorsal perianal approach, our team successfully excised the mass with meticulous care to preserve surrounding nerves and vessels. A Penrose drain was placed and removed 3 days post-op.
💊 Recovery & Meds
Maya recovered smoothly with 24-hour hospitalization. She received antibiotics and pain relief, and her stitches will be removed in 12 days.
🔬 Next Steps
Biopsy results will guide prognosis
🐾 We’re proud of Maya’s strength and hopeful for her path ahead!

Our clinic is equipped with all the necessary technology to ensure an accurate diagnosis. Our radiography machine is state-of-the-art, a crucial diagnostic tool we use to visualize your pet's internal anatomy, including their skeletal structure and major organs. This non-invasive imaging technique provides us with essential information to accurately diagnose conditions and create the best treatment plan for your pet's well-being.
🚩Knowing your dog's normal behavior is key to spotting when something is wrong. While many subtle signs can indicate a health issue, a few major red flags warrant immediate attention and a call to your veterinarian. Early detection and treatment can make a significant difference in your dog's health and outcome.

🐱Cats have an impressively diverse and nuanced range of vocalizations. It is widely cited that they can produce over 100 different sounds.
🐶However, it's a mistake to think that a dog's vocal communication is simple. While they have fewer types of sounds, they are masters of variation. Dogs can alter the pitch, frequency, and intensity of a single sound, like a bark, to convey many different messages.

Did you know?
🐶A dog's wet nose isn't just for cute boops; it helps them absorb scent chemicals. In fact, a dog's sense of smell is estimated to be 10,000 to 100,000 times more powerful than a human's. This incredible olfactory ability allows some dogs to be trained to detect diseases like cancer and diabetes, and even predict seizures.

Amy, a 10-year-old spayed female dog, recently presented with concerning symptoms of stranguria (straining to urinate) and hematuria (blood in the urine). After a thorough diagnostic workup, we discovered the cause: a large number of struvite uroliths (bladder stones)!
These stones can be incredibly painful and, if left untreated, can lead to serious complications. Amy underwent a successful cystotomy (surgical removal of the bladder stones) and is now recovering wonderfully. This case highlights the importance of regular veterinary check-ups and paying close attention to your pet's urinary habits. Early detection is key!
A special thanks to Amy's dedicated owners for their swift action and care. We're so happy to see her feeling so much better!
