🙏 This is an appeal worth sharing, so please stick with us. Hollie deserves to be heard, understood and, most importantly, given a chance. 🙏

🐾 Meet Hollie, approximately 2 years old. 🐾

Hollie came to the UK when she was just 4 months old. Sadly, her first home wasn’t the right fit for her, and she found herself in kennels.

Recently, Hollie was adopted for the second time and travelled to Doncaster, hopeful of finally finding her forever home. Heartbreakingly, things didn’t work out again, and Hollie was returned to kennels for a second time.

💔 Two homes. Two disappointments. And now, back behind kennel doors, waiting for someone to see her potential.

But please, don’t give up on Hollie. We certainly haven’t!

❤️ SO, WHO IS HOLLIE?

Hollie is a smart, intelligent young girl who enjoys affection and human company. She would love nothing more than to accompany you on walks, join you on runs and become your most loyal companion.

She has so much potential, so much love to give and so much life ahead of her. She just needs the right person to believe in her.

🐕 WHY HAS HOLLIE HAD SUCH BAD LUCK?

Hollie isn’t a bad dog. She is a high-energy girl who needs regular exercise, structure, consistency and training.

Please don’t let the words high energy put you off! With the right routine and commitment, high-energy dogs can thrive in loving homes. We believe Hollie would benefit from a minimum of two walks a day, each lasting at least 30 minutes, although longer walks would be even better.

She needs someone who understands that a young, intelligent dog needs more than just a garden and a cosy bed. She needs engagement, guidance, exercise and the opportunity to learn.

❤️ WHAT KIND OF HOME DOES HOLLIE NEED?

Hollie has some specific requirements, and finding the right match is essential for her future.

🐾 She needs to be the only dog in the home.

🐾 No cats. Hollie needs a cat-free home.

🐾 She would be best suited to a home without young children. Children aged 12 and over may be considered.

🐾 She can be wary of men, so she needs someone patient and understanding who is willing to build her trust at her own pace.

We know this might sound like a lot to ask, but please don’t mistake specific needs for impossible to rehome.

Hollie is spending her days in kennels, where opportunities for the consistent, individual training she needs are limited. Just imagine what could be achieved with time, patience, understanding and a committed person by her side.

She deserves the chance to learn, grow and become the best version of herself.

We believe Hollie could be a wonderful companion for a single person, a couple or a family with older children who can offer her the right environment, routine and commitment.

🏡 HOLLIE DOESN’T NEED JUST ANY HOME. SHE NEEDS THE RIGHT HOME.

And there is a difference.

Please don’t let Hollie’s specific needs mean she spends the rest of her life behind kennel bars. We all have our own needs, our own quirks and things we struggle with. Yet somehow, when a dog needs a little extra understanding, it can become a reason to overlook them.

Hollie isn’t asking for perfection. She needs someone willing to see beyond her challenges and recognise the loving, intelligent, loyal companion she could become.

💔 Two homes haven’t worked out. Please don’t let that define the rest of her life.

Την Τρίτη, 20 Οκτωβρίου 2026, εκπρόσωποι της Ομοσπονδίας μας πραγματοποιήσαμε συνάντηση με τον Επίτροπο Περιβάλλοντος και Ευημερίας των Ζώων, κ.Ηλία Μυριάνθους, σε ένα ιδιαίτερα θετικό κλίμα, με μια εποικοδομητική και ουσιαστική ανταλλαγή απόψεων.

Κατά τη διάρκεια της συνάντησης, ο Επίτροπος μας διαβεβαίωσε για την πρόθεσή του να συνεχίσει το έργο που ξεκίνησε η προκάτοχός του, κα Αντωνία Θεοδοσίου, δίνοντας συνέχεια στις 𝟐𝟓 𝛑𝛒𝛐𝛕𝛂́𝛔𝛆𝛊𝛓 𝛄𝛊𝛂 𝛕𝛈 𝛃𝛆𝛌𝛕𝛊́𝛚𝛔𝛈 𝛕𝛈𝛓 𝛑𝛒𝛐𝛔𝛕𝛂𝛔𝛊́𝛂𝛓 𝛋𝛂𝛊 𝛕𝛈𝛓 𝛆𝛖𝛈𝛍𝛆𝛒𝛊́𝛂𝛓 𝛕𝛚𝛎 𝛇𝛚́𝛚𝛎 𝛔𝛕𝛈𝛎 𝚱𝛖́𝛑𝛒𝛐.

Από πλευράς μας, θέσαμε ενώπιόν του τις καθημερινές δυσκολίες και τα διαχρονικά προβλήματα που αντιμετωπίζουν οι φιλοζωικές οργανώσεις του τόπου μας, μεταφέροντας την πραγματικότητα που βιώνουν όσοι βρίσκονται καθημερινά στην πρώτη γραμμή της προστασίας των ζώων.

Ο κ. Μυριάνθους εξέφρασε τη στήριξή του και την πρόθεσή του να συμβάλει στις προσπάθειες για την πολυπόθητη αλλαγή που έχει ανάγκη ο τόπος μας στον τομέα της ευημερίας των ζώων.

Παράλληλα, του παραδώσαμε την επίσημη ανακοίνωση με τις προτεραιότητες της Ομοσπονδίας μας, θέτοντας τις βάσεις για συνεχή επικοινωνία και συνεργασία.

Η υποχρέωση εφαρμογής της νομοθεσίας δεν είναι προαιρετική.
Και όπου διαπιστώνονται παράνομες παραλείψεις, αμέλεια ή παραβιάσεις της νομοθεσίας, πρέπει να υπάρχει λογοδοσία.
Γιατί η αδιαφορία και η μη εφαρμογή της νομοθεσίας μπορούν να έχουν συνέπειες που δεν περιορίζονται στον τραυματισμό ή τον θάνατο ενός ζώου. Μπορούν να κοστίσουν όπως έχουν κοστίσει και στο παρελθόν, και ανθρώπινες ζωές.

✍️ Όποιος θεωρεί ότι η ικανοποίηση της προσωπικής του περιέργειας έχει μεγαλύτερη αξία από το δικαίωμα ενός ζώου να ζει ουσιαστικά και όχι απλώς να επιβιώνει, ας το υποστηρίξει ανοιχτά. Έχει κάθε δικαίωμα να εκφράζει την άποψη του. Ας έχει όμως το θάρρος να την υποστηρίξει ξεκάθαρα.

Έχουμε πια πνίγει στην ευθυνοφοβία, την υποκρισία και τον στρουθοκαμηλισμό!

Όλοι αγαπάνε τα ζώα, αλλά ούτε λόγος να καταλάβουμε τη διαφορά μεταξύ ζωής και επιβίωσης!

💙 Meet Ioannis – A Sweet Soul Deserving of Love 💙
Ioannis is a lovely lad, around 9 years old, who has most likely had a difficult life so far. We truly believe that now is his time to experience the love, comfort and happiness he so deserves. ❤️
He is a very friendly boy who absolutely loves people and gets along well with other dogs. He has not yet been tested with cats or young children, so this would need to be considered when finding his perfect home.
Ioannis will come fully vaccinated, neutered and with full rescue backup, giving his future family support throughout his adoption journey.
We know that older dogs can sometimes be overlooked, but Ioannis still has so much love to give. 🐾 All he needs is someone willing to look beyond his age, see the beautiful soul he is and give him the chance to finally know what it means to be truly loved.

🐾 Με ιδιαίτερη χαρά και περηφάνια μοιραζόμαστε την ανακοίνωση του νέου διοικητικού συμβουλίου της Cyprus Voice for Animals (CVA) - Φωνή Για Τα Ζώα Της Κύπρου.

Η εκλογή της εκπροσώπου μας, Δανάης Καζά, στη θέση της Προέδρου της Ομοσπονδίας, αποτελεί για το RIGHTS FOR ANIMALS RESCUE CYPRUS (R.A.R.C.) μεγάλη τιμή, αλλά πάνω απ’ όλα ευθύνη.

Ευχαριστούμε για την εμπιστοσύνη και συγχαίρουμε όλα τα μέλη του νέου Διοικητικού Συμβουλίου.

❤️ MEET PHOENIX – A SURVIVOR WHO DESERVES A SECOND CHANCE 🐾

Please take a moment to read Phoenix’s story. Behind those nervous eyes is a little soul who has endured unimaginable cruelty, yet still has love and trust to give. 💔❤️

In August, Phoenix was found in a village in critical condition. He was convulsing and struggling to breathe. Rushed to the vet, his heart stopped beating TWICE! But incredibly, the veterinary team brought him back to life. 🥺🙏

Phoenix is a survivor of extreme abuse, so please don’t let his nervous appearance put you off. His fear is a reflection of what he has endured, not who he is.

Despite everything humans have put him through, Phoenix is still friendly and capable of showing love. Isn’t that something truly special? ❤️

🐶 A little about Phoenix:

Estimated to be around 1.5 years old.
Friendly but understandably nervous.
Friendly with other dogs.
Not yet tested with cats or young children.
Phoenix deserves a home where he can finally feel safe, where patience replaces fear and kindness replaces cruelty. He needs someone willing to give him time to settle, learn to trust, and discover what it feels like to be truly loved. 🏡❤️

We cannot change his past, but we can help give him the future he deserves.

🐾 Παγκόσμια Ημέρα των Ζώων. Μια γιορτή που, δυστυχώς, στην Κύπρο παραμένει πολλές φορές μόνο στα λόγια.

Με αφορμή την Παγκόσμια Ημέρα των Ζώων, η εθελόντριά μας Danae Kaza παρευρέθηκε στην εκπομπή «Απόγευμα στο ΡΙΚ», όπου συζητήθηκε η πραγματικότητα που αντιμετωπίζουν καθημερινά οι εθελοντές και οι οργανώσεις που καλούνται να προστατεύσουν ζώα εκεί όπου το σύστημα αποτυγχάνει να ανταποκριθεί.

Γιατί ας είμαστε ξεκάθαροι:

Δεν μπορούμε να μιλάμε για φιλοζωία μόνο στις 4 Οκτωβρίου.

Δεν μπορούμε να ζητάμε από τον πολίτη να είναι υπεύθυνος, να καταγγέλλει, να βοηθά, να στειρώνει, να προστατεύει και να σέβεται τα ζώα, όταν την ίδια στιγμή οι αρμόδιες υπηρεσίες παρουσιάζουν σοβαρές αδυναμίες στην εφαρμογή της νομοθεσίας, στον έλεγχο και στην ουσιαστική διαχείριση περιστατικών.

Και ακόμα περισσότερο:

Δεν μπορεί το κράτος να θεωρεί δεδομένο ότι οι εθελοντές θα καλύπτουν μονίμως τα κενά του.

Οι εθελοντές δεν είναι κρατική υπηρεσία.
Δεν είναι δωρεάν εργατικό δυναμικό.
Δεν είναι ανεξάντλητη πηγή χρημάτων, χώρου και χρόνου.
Και δεν είναι υποχρεωμένοι να επωμίζονται ευθύνες που ανήκουν θεσμικά αλλού.

Κι όμως, στην πράξη, πάρα πολλές φορές αυτό ακριβώς συμβαίνει.

Οι εθελοντές καλούνται να παραλάβουν ζώα, να πληρώσουν κτηνιατρικά έξοδα, να εξασφαλίσουν φιλοξενίες, να μεταφέρουν, να περιθάλψουν, να διαχειριστούν καταγγελίες και να λύσουν προβλήματα για τα οποία θα έπρεπε να υπάρχει οργανωμένος και αποτελεσματικός κρατικός μηχανισμός.

Και ύστερα μιλάμε για «ευαισθητοποίηση των πολιτών».

Πώς περιμένουμε μια κοινωνία να λειτουργήσει υπεύθυνα, όταν οι ίδιοι οι θεσμοί που θα έπρεπε να δίνουν το παράδειγμα δεν λειτουργούν πάντοτε με την ίδια συνέπεια και υπευθυνότητα που απαιτούν από τους πολίτες;

Η φιλοζωία δεν αποδεικνύεται με επετειακές δηλώσεις.

Αποδεικνύεται με εφαρμογή της νομοθεσίας.
📍Με ελέγχους.
📍Με λογοδοσία.
📍Με υποδομές.
📍Με συντονισμό.
📍Με πραγματική ανάληψη ευθύνης.

👉 Και κυρίως, με ένα κράτος που συνεργάζεται με τους εθελοντές χωρίς να τους εκμεταλλεύεται και χωρίς να μεταφέρει πάνω τους το βάρος των δικών του υποχρεώσεων.

Οι εθελοντές πρέπει να είναι συνεργάτες και σύμμαχοι ενός σωστού συστήματος.

Όχι το άλλοθι για την απουσία του.

Η Παγκόσμια Ημέρα των Ζώων θα αξίζει πραγματικά να γιορτάζεται όταν η προστασία τους πάψει να εξαρτάται από το πόσο ακόμη μπορούν να αντέξουν οι εθελοντές.

Μέχρι τότε, εμείς θα συνεχίσουμε να διεκδικούμε και να φωνάζουμε για αυτά που δεν έχουν φωνή.

Γιατί τα ζώα δεν χρειάζονται άλλες ευχές.

Χρειάζονται προστασία.
Χρειάζονται ευθύνη.
Χρειάζονται πράξεις. 🐾

🐾 World Animal Day. A day that, unfortunately, in Cyprus too often remains meaningful only in words.

On the occasion of World Animal Day, our volunteer Danae Kaza appeared on the TV programme “Apogevma sto RIK”, where the discussion focused on the reality faced every single day by volunteers and animal welfare organisations that are repeatedly called upon to step in wherever the system fails to respond.

Because let us be clear:

We cannot talk about animal welfare only on October 4th.

We cannot ask citizens to be responsible, to report abuse, to help, to neuter, to protect and respect animals, while at the same time the competent authorities continue to show serious shortcomings in the enforcement of legislation, inspections, and the effective handling of animal welfare cases.

And even more importantly:

The State cannot continue to take for granted that volunteers will permanently fill the gaps left by the system.

Volunteers are not a government service.
They are not free labour.
They are not an endless source of money, space and time.
And they should not be expected to carry responsibilities that institutionally belong elsewhere.

Yet, in practice, this is exactly what happens far too often.

Volunteers are expected to collect animals, cover veterinary expenses, find foster homes, provide transport and care, deal with reports and complaints, and solve problems for which there should already be an organised and effective state mechanism in place.

And then we speak about “raising public awareness”.

How can we expect society to act responsibly when the very institutions that should be setting the example do not always operate with the same consistency and accountability they demand from citizens?

Animal welfare is not proven through statements made on international awareness days.

It is proven through the enforcement of legislation.
📍 Through inspections.
📍 Through accountability.
📍 Through proper infrastructure.
📍 Through coordination.
📍 Through genuine responsibility and action.

👉 And above all, through a State that works alongside volunteers without exploiting them and without shifting the burden of its own responsibilities onto their shoulders.

Volunteers should be partners and allies within a properly functioning animal welfare system.

Not the excuse for the absence of one.

World Animal Day will truly be worth celebrating when the protection of animals no longer depends on how much more volunteers can endure.

Until then, we will continue to stand up, demand change and speak loudly for those who have no voice.

Because animals do not need any more wishes.

They need protection.
They need responsibility.
They need action. 🐾

🐾 No, you’re not seeing double! This handsome boy is Roy, Hermes’ brother! 🐾
Roy is 1.5 years old and, just like his brother, he is friendly, kind and playful. 💙 He’s a wonderful young dog with so much love to give and would make a fantastic best friend and loyal companion.

Roy is friendly with other dogs, although he hasn’t yet been tested with cats or young children. He just wants a loving home that can help him continue learning, growing and enjoying life.
