Do we ride our horses and do we give riding lessons or offer trail rides to the general public?
These are the questions we get asked all the time and so we thought it would be a good idea to discuss this via our FB page.
Do we ride our horses?
The simple answer is yes, some of them we do. But not in the way you might imagine or be used too. We dont do "disciplines" such as dressage and show jumping nor ask a lot from our horses.
All our horses are privately owned, so it is up to the individual owners whether they ride their horses or not. We promote kind and gentle training methods and believe that when you have built up trust and connection on the ground with your horse first, then it is ok and safe to ride them.
Do we give riding lessons or offer trail riding to the general public?
The answer to this is yes and no! We are not a traditional type of "riding centre" that exists purely to teach you to ride. We do not believe horses should be used in a way where coersion and dominance are used for your pleasure with no thought to the horses well-being.
Some of the owners do give riding lessons at Alexandros, but this is done using their own horses and is done purely on a private basis.
However, for anyone interested in learning our methods and ways of training, one of our owners Julia Khudyakova can give horsemanship lessons, seminars and coaching on developing relationship with the horse from the ground, that can ultimately lead to riding and enjoying trail rides.
