Elya, 1,5 year old Yorkshire Terrier before and 3 months after her cataract surgery. Elya had juvenile hereditary cataracts on both eyes. This type of cataract appears when the dogs are still puppies and the surgical approach is quite challenging as the anterior lens capsule is quite elastic and the cataract soft but "gummy" which can cause severe postoperative inflammation if not treated properly. Her left eye was operated successfully and the right eye will be operated within the next months 🐾🐶

Cataract removal via phacoemulcification. The only treatment for cataract is surgical removal. 🐾

Day 1, Day 14 and Day 30 of initial visit. This 2 month old kitten came to us with severe herpetic descemetocele which healed nicely over a month period. 😺🐾

This cute sphynx kitten came to us few months ago as a third opinion case with descemetocele on her right eye complicated with partial corneal perforation and severe intraocular inflammation. We managed to save the eye and give her her vision back. Corneal perforations are considered ophthalmic emergencies and need to be handled by an ophthalmologist immediately. If your cat is facing any type of eye problem, give us a ring for appointment. 😺🐈‍⬛

Meet Visarionas, our 12 year old patient who came to us for age related changes on his right eye that cause ulcers. Although those type of ulcers (SCCED) are quite stubborn and painful, after diamond burr debridement and bandage lens protection the ulcer healed nicely. The bandage lens was removed today and Visarionas is happy to be pain free again 🐰

This beautiful 10 month old Maine C**n boy was admitted for lower right eyelid entropion surgery today. Maine C**ns are genetically predisposed to entropion and if left untreated it can cause severe corneal damage. Maine C**ns are one of the largest domesticated cat breeds and are quite popular for their gentle and calm temperament 😺🩵

Tropical keratopathy ( Florida spots ) is very common in countries with tropical or subtropical climate like
Cyprus 🌞. These grey rounded opacities do not cause any vision loss or pain. They were spotted as an incidental finding on the corneal stroma bilaterally of this beautiful outdoor female cat who visited us for her annual vaccination today 😺🐾

This cute little pumpkin, Bruno, is an 8 weeks old Border Collie who came for his fundoscopic examination. Many eye disorders in dogs are genetic so early eye screening between 6-8 weeks is advisable.
