☀️Summer is officially in full swing☀️

While we love embracing the season of longer days and more daylight, we too, both two and four legged team members, need our time to rest and recharge. 🏖️🐴💤

Please note the following dates in which our school will be closed for holidays:

📌4th-9th of July
📌24th-25th of July
📌15th-17th of August

We kindly ask everyone to plan their lessons accordingly and ideally early on, as there will be limited availability in the weeks around those dates.

Here’s to a fun, sunny and joyful summer!🌻💦

Ever wonder why it’s best to have your own personal riding helmet? 🪖🏇

Well, when it comes to horse riding, safety and hygiene are paramount. As shared helmets can often harbour sweat, bacteria, dirt, and even lice, one way to ensure you are staying safe and clean is by investing in your own personal helmet!

By getting your own personal helmet, you don’t just prevent the spread of germs and bacteria that linger in shared helmets, but also ensure a higher level of comfort and safety, as you get a customised fit to your head shape and size.

🎉 As we’d like to promote a more hygienic experience of our sport, for a limited time only, you can now enjoy a 10% OFF discount on all helmets in our shop!

This offer ends at the end of the month. Hurry up and get yours now! 🛍️

📨 Message us today to book your helmet fitting appointment and let us help you in finding the perfect helmet for your riding needs. Appointments are free of charge 😊

Horses need friends!🐴👫

Did you know that horses are naturally social creatures?🤔

Much like us, horses are social animals who thrive in the company of others. As herd animals by nature, companionship is vital for them as it provides them with both the safety and emotional support they need to survive.

When keeping horses as pets or working animals, it’s crucial to consider their need for companionship. Horses that live alone can suffer from stress, loneliness, and even behavioral issues. Having a buddy, whether it’s another horse, a donkey, or even a goat, helps keep them mentally and emotionally healthy.❤️‍🩹

So, if you’re ever thinking of getting a horse or already have one, remember that a friend is just as important as food, water, and shelter.😊

Days are getting longer and we are getting busier💚

As our schedule is filling up pretty quickly these days, we’d like to advise everyone to book their lessons early on in order to secure their preferred time slots. By doing so, you ensure that you get the schedule that works for you best.

We’ll always try to accommodate everyone to the best of our abilities, but with a busier season upon us, it may be a little trickier at times. Keep your requests coming and we’ll make every effort to find a spot that works for you!☺️

Kindly yours,

Long postponed post but we’re back and today we’re answering an often asked question regarding the equine vision for you😊

“What colours do horses see?”🤔

Well unlike humans that have three types of cones in the retina of the eye, which sense red, yellow-green, and blue light, horses can see only two of the visible wavelengths in the light spectrum because they only have blue and yellow-sensitive cone cells. Thus, they see blue, yellow, and variations of the two colors, but do not see red or shades of red.

Did you know that?
Well, now you do 😉

We’d like to answer more of your questions, however simple or complicated you think they may be, hit us up and yours might be the next one we address ✉️❤️

“All riders should know how to tack up”🐎
Do you ever wonder why? 🤔

For those of you who don’t know, “tacking up” is the term we use for when we prepare a horse with the necessary equipment before a ride and “tack” is all the equipment involved.

Now why it’s so important for every rider to know how to tack up the horse they’re about to ride?

As you learn how to use all this gear when you ride, it’s also vital that you know their correct placement, in order to ensure yours and the horse’s comfort and safety.
By knowing where everything should be placed and being able to demonstrate it as such, a rider becomes more aware when something is misplaced during a ride or when something is not fitting the horse right.

Here at Ippos we find this to be of great value for all of our students’ knowledge and therefore always include it as part of the lesson. Not just for educational purposes but also to allow our horses to get to know a bit more of the people who are about to ride them.😊
