All about BARC

The British (Forces) Animal Rehoming Centre - BARC - offers support to military personnel with pets. BARC is a non-profit organisation - any proceeds from our activities go directly towards the support and upkeep of the animals and facilities. Established in 1991 BARC is dedicated to providing an animal welfare service to British Forces in the Western Sovereign Base Area, Cyprus. As well as finding new homes for cats and dogs, BARC offers pet boarding and an import / export service exclusively to service personnel. 🎉 HAPPY ADOPTION DAY, TIMMY! 🐾❤️

Today is the day we've all been waiting for... our beautiful boy Timmy has officially been adopted by the wonderful Marsh family! 🏡🐶

Timmy's entire life so far has been spent in kennels. While he always greeted everyone with his wagging tail, loving nature, and endless cuddles, what he truly deserved was a family to call his own.

Well... today, that dream has come true. 💙

No more kennel life. No more waiting.

Instead, Timmy now has a warm home, a comfy bed, endless love, beach adventures, cuddles on the sofa, and a family who already adore him. We couldn't be happier for this special boy as he starts the next chapter of his life.

To the Marsh family, thank you for opening your hearts and your home to Timmy. We know he is going to bring you so much joy, laughter, and unconditional love, just as he brought to everyone here at BARC.

Have the most amazing life, Timmy. You waited so patiently for your forever family, and they were worth the wait. We can't wait to follow your adventures and see all the memories you make together.

Hello to all our volunteers new and old! Please note our current walking hours are:

We are so happy to share that our gorgeous boy Timmy is currently out on trial with the wonderful Marsh family! ❤️

From everything we've seen so far, he's having the best time enjoying beach adventures, plenty of cuddles, and all the love he deserves. 🏖️🐶

After everything Timmy has been through, seeing him happy, relaxed, and making beautiful memories with his potential new family means the world to us.

We're keeping everything crossed that this trial continues to go well and that Timmy has found his forever home. 🤞❤️

A huge thank you to the Marsh family for opening your hearts and giving Timmy this opportunity. We can't wait to see what the next chapter holds for this special boy.

Good afternoon everyone,

This is an incredibly difficult post to write.

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we have to let you all know that our beloved Flash has sadly passed away. 💔

As many of you know, Flash spent almost three years with us at BARC before finally finding his forever home just eight months ago. During his time with us, he was loved by so many volunteers, staff, and supporters, and his loss will be felt by us all.

Although our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that his final months were filled with the love, warmth, and happiness he had waited so long to experience. I feel incredibly blessed to have been part of his journey and to have shared those precious final months with him.

Thank you to every single person who cared for Flash throughout his journey. Every walk, every cuddle, every clean kennel, every treat, every donation, and every kind word made a difference to his life. He touched the hearts of so many and will forever remain a part of the BARC family.

We would also like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated towards Flash’s veterinary treatment. His vet bills remain extremely high, and we are continuing to honour him even after his passing by giving him the dignified cremation he deserves.

Our hearts are truly broken, but we are forever grateful that Flash knew what it meant to be loved.

Sleep peacefully, beautiful boy. Run free over the Rainbow Bridge. 🌈🐾❤️

You will never be forgotten.

The two dogs found this morning were picked up safely by the amazing team at Barc and are now at the SBA police station. If they have no owners we will be looking for homes for them in the next few weeks 😢❤️‍🩹
