Administrative & support team for Vucjak Shelter, a non-profit no-kill animal sanctuary for abandoned, abused and special needs animals in Cumic, Serbia since 1997. Vucjak Shelter & Sanctuary provides a safe haven for unwanted, abandoned and injured animals in Čumić near Kragujevac, Serbia. The shelter is home to over 1500 dogs, plus cats and several wild animals—many of which were abandoned in front of the shelter or were found injured on the streets.

Dejan and his helpers are working around the clock to get it under control, separating the infected dogs and treating them accordingly. IRIS ♡♡ We love you Iris. Enjoy your new home and family in Germany. Found a month ago with a broken spine most likely due to a car collision 💔 A month later, Iris is in Germany with her new family. Her mom, an experienced dog mom with another handicapped pup will make sure she is comfortable and is getting Iris fitted for her new wheels 👩‍🦽 It takes a VERY SPECIAL person to adopt a handicapped dog like Iris and give them a true second chance 🥰🐶 It also takes a very SPECIAL COMMUNITY to keep going and thanks to YOU, Dejan has kept the shelter's doors open. BUT we still need your help. Our $10K food match pledged by is far from being reached. We've raised less than $3K towards the match and we are at risk of LOSING IT 🙏 If you've pitched in, thank you! WARNING - GRAPHIC‼️ I swear we can't catch a break 🫩 Can't even have 12 hours to celebrate Ruby's adoption. This poor pup was in agony. Rushed to the vet hospital and diagnosed with a stone in the bladder causing a blockage. Bladder is getting drained. But the poor pup needs an immediate surgery. First we want to wish you a blessed Good Friday and happy Easter Weekend. We also want to thank you for your continued support. Every day we need $1500 just to feed the dogs and halfway through the month, when our pledges have run out, we are faced with scenes like these with dogs begging for their food and we in turn beg you. 🆘️ URGENT - IN PROGRESS‼️Dejan is at the vet hospital now. Just rushed this beautiful little lady who was lethargic and vaumiting. She is suffering from pyometra - a life-threatening uterine infection that requires surgery. He's literally guarding the last bit of food 😓 As we experience every month, our committed food pledges run out mid-way through. We've done all we can to stretch what we have. The next monthly pledges come in at the end of next week! "I don't know how to survive in the meantime" told us Dejan.
