it’s a learned trick here to make it fun…
Your dog will always continue to follow you without any anxiety if he trust you, even if he cross wild animals or anything new. Always you have to be the protector of your dog, not the contrary. When in trust he will also protect you at any cost but he will wait to act for your defense until you give order or being unable to manage the situation alone.

Don’t make them having stressful guard. Passive and controlled guard is well know from robbers. A dog who is too aggressive or too active is usually not a trained dog who will know exactly how to act & manage the situation. most of barking dogs will run from the robbers if he is confident & more aggressive than the dog.

Other non trained dogs will also probably don’t do anything if the robbers just act nicely. 90% of non trained dogs will run or will not act to kick them out if they really enter your place even for big doggies who look like they will destroy anyone entering.

Coming back from a working trek to bring 20 coyotes in the hernandez mountain close to Tamarindo.

>> 6 coyotes entered a residential Finca crossing a baby playing. I had to bring them to their original pack territory in the mountains. Waffle took the head leader & Cookie took in target the coordinator… After that all the 6 coyotes follow with no complaints, then 1round 15 more coyotes follow us few kilometers after we started the bring back the first group ( they were waiting 2km away from the Finca ).

Lūlū ( the mastiff ) didn’t participate to the trek. he doesn’t have enough stamina for a trek under 40 celsius degrees. he is autistic and only train for guard and can’t participate to this. A well trained kangal with a total emotional control will enjoy to make this kind of work. He just enjoyed smell them and we made with Lūlū the 1km come back from the working start. But he also participated by guarding the starting point to prevent any other wild intrusion.

For the keeping livestock & family guard he is well trained and don’t suffer if he guard from a base with shade. Now very old Lūlū is half blind and His old butt is now pensioned ^^, with AC and treats he enjoy the Pura Vida in our Finca and just growl sometimes to say others than grandpa is still there if they need 😅

Advertising: Please don’t try this with non trained dogs. My kangals are trained to protect without killing for pumas, leopard 🐆 and wolves. They prevent life at any cost. They never had to bote or kill any animal in their life. We live happily with more than 50 monkeys, squirrels, parrots, deers, savage horses and others in my Land.

Please never learn a dog to kill or hurt unless it’s specialized army training. Even for guarding there is way to learn them to disarm or protect without hurting anyone or any animal. Biting is the last ultimate weapon they got when in troubles… they are hundredsof other solutions before that 😉

Lūlū ( my 9 yo mastiff ) still like to play bang bang. not all dogs like to learn this trick, make some tests and please be sure that your dog is really enjoying or would enjoy this before to learn him this trick. Please use only the positive way to teach them non necessary orders. I only use Negative way very rarely to save dogs from being euthanized when I got only hours or days to make them successfully pass a behavioral test ordered by court ! Then right after the test begin the real work, 99% always with positive associations 🥰

Waffle and cookie ( my 2 4 years old kangals ) processing Guarding Porch 80 meters quick come back in few seconds. Anatolian sherperd dogs are one of the fastest dogs on earth . the velocity and body control of the kangal is just incredible!!! ( calling one time by ultrasound whistle )

🐾 Happy doggies Story & Dog training 8 ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Happiness is not a destination, itis a way of life. You need to make your dogs happy any day before to try any tricks ! Don’t force them to train on tricks or orders that the dislike, just the basics you need to have them acting well in the human jungle society ( come back, stay & sit are the most needed )
